The Internal Communications Specialist supports the planning, creation, and delivery of employee communications that inform, engage and connect colleagues to Wintrust’s business priorities, culture and brand. This role partners closely with assigned business areas to gather news and updates, develop audience-focused content, and execute communication plans across a variety of internal channels. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and collaborator who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the creation and distribution of internal communications, including building newsletters and preparing content for various channels. Support the execution of editorial calendars and content plans, helping maintain a steady cadence of communications.
  • Partner with assigned business areas to proactively gather relevant updates, news, and content, and contribute to business unit communication planning and execution, helping ensure consistent and timely communication.
  • Learn and apply Wintrust’s vision, mission, values, and brand guidelines to create clear, engaging internal communications across channels (e.g., newsletters, executive messages, scripts, and digital content).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and editing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Proactive and organized, with the ability to track projects, follow up on tasks, and escalate when needed.
  • Comfortable working with content management systems, intranet platforms, and digital communication tools (experience with newsletters or similar platforms is a plus).
  • Eagerness to learn, take direction, and contribute as part of a collaborative team.
  • Financial industry or HR experience a plus.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $59,000 - $77,000 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience
