Job Description SummaryThe Opportunity:
If you're energized by the idea of bringing structure to complexity — and by the knowledge that the projects, you support are helping power a cleaner world — this role is for you.
As a Internal Project Manager & Risk Manager within GE Vernova's North America Grid Solutions Integration (NAM GSI) Behind the Meter (BTM) portfolio, play a key role in driving execution discipline and operational efficiency across complex energy infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with Senior Project Managers/Project Directors, giving them the freedom to lead customer relationships while you'll strengthen internal project execution through cross-functional coordination, proactive risk management, process standardization, and continuous improvement. You'll also champion the adoption of digital and AI-driven solutions to simplify processes, enhance project visibility, and improve execution performance.
This is an opportunity to combine your project management expertise, analytical mindset, and Lean approach to make a tangible impact on project performance, grid reliability, and the future of energy.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

Execution & Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, logistics, and site teams to ensure alignment with approved project execution plans.
  • Track action items, deliverables, and commitments — flagging deviations early, driving resolution of execution issues and ensuring timely closure.
  • Support preparation and facilitation of internal project reviews, readiness reviews, and execution meetings.

Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Lead and coordinate the risk and opportunity management process across an assigned group of projects, facilitating structured assessment sessions with Senior Project Managers, Project Directors, Project Controllers and cross-functional teams.
  • Own the accuracy, completeness, and timely updates of Risk & Opportunity Registers, ensuring traceability and alignment with company risk management standards.
  • Consolidate project-level risk data to deliver a clear sub-portfolio view of exposure, trends, and potential financial and schedule impacts.
  • Monitor mitigation and opportunity realization actions, ensuring clear ownership and follow-up; escalate emerging or significant risks to project/portfolio leadership.
  • Prepare and maintain risk dashboards and summaries to support leadership decisions and portfolio reviews.

Financial & Commercial Support

  • Support budget tracking, commitments, and actuals in coordination with the Project Controller.
  • Assist with Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews, internal financial reporting, and change management documentation — without owning customer negotiations.

Process Improvement & Digital Innovation

  • Champion the adoption of AI and digital tools in project management, identifying opportunities to automate routine activities, enhance risk analysis, and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Drive lessons learned, best practices, process adherence, continuous improvement, and standardization initiatives across the portfolio.

Stakeholder Interface

  • Serve as a key internal coordination point between project teams and factories for manufacturing follow-up, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) readiness, and delivery coordination.
  • Participate in customer-facing meetings only when delegated, in a supporting capacity.

Who You Are:

You're a detail-oriented, proactive project professional who thrives in complex environments and gets satisfaction from keeping many moving parts aligned. You bring both analytical precision and strong collaboration skills — and you know that great project outcomes are built on shared accountability and clear communication.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, project controls, or project execution roles, preferably within power, grid, energy or EPC environment.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 10% of the time based on the business needs.
  • Experience supporting complex projects involving factory-manufactured equipment and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong foundation in project management principles: schedule, cost, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a collaborative approach and attention to data integrity.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive alignment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience applying structured risk assessment methodologies and building risk exposure reports across multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and project tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, ERP systems, or risk management applications.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, or progress toward it; PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) or equivalent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, digital automation, or data analytics solutions applied to project management.
