Job Summary & Responsibilities

Position Purpose:

The IT Director is responsible for leading the company’s IT function across infrastructure, desktop support, and security. This role ensures reliable day-to-day technology operations while driving improvements that reduce risk, improve uptime, and support business needs. The IT Director leads local IT staff and third-party partners, supports business and plant operations, and works with corporate Information Security to implement security controls, reduce vulnerabilities, and complete key IT and security initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead IT operations across infrastructure, desktop support, network services, and local cybersecurity efforts.
  • Manage and improve core technology environments, including servers, storage, backups, networks, wireless, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and identity-related services.
  • Oversee desktop support and end-user services to ensure reliable support, timely issue resolution, and strong user experience.
  • Plan and execute IT and security projects, including infrastructure upgrades, vulnerability reduction efforts, control implementation, and remediation activities resulting from audits or assessments.
  • Partner with corporate Information Security to implement required security standards, respond to risks, and support incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.
  • Support manufacturing and operational environments by coordinating technology needs for plant-floor systems and helping manage risks related to unsupported or legacy technology.
  • Identify, manage, and reduce legacy technology risk by coordinating the support, replacement, retirement, or segmentation of outdated systems, including technologies that support manufacturing and shop-floor operations.
  • Work with business leaders, vendors, and external partners to align IT services and technology investments with operational needs and company priorities.
  • Manage annual external audit requirements around internal controls and penetration test.
  • Requires travel to 4 plant sites periodically through the year (Schaumburg, Elgin, Union, Freeport IL; Greenwood AR).

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer-related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management and IT business process experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer requirements or demands effectively, meeting deliverable dates, leading a work group(s), and driving process improvements
  • Ability to interface with customers and provide group and one-on-one support and training
  • Ability to work with all staff levels to ensure proper communication of project status and to identify and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Ability to work assigned shift and remain awake and alert during assigned shift is required.

Pay & Benefits

Rate: In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $153,600 - $207,400 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. This pay range is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Pay Range

$153,000 - $200,000
