Mind Computing is seeking a fulltime, 100% remote Junior Scrum Master be a part of a team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding and facilitating Agile practices within the team, ensuring smooth project execution, and helping the team meet its goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Scrum events including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, Demos, and PI Planning.
  • Build strong relationships to foster collaboration, transparency, and innovation across highly cross-functional Agile software development teams supporting CI/CD.
  • Proactively identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress.
  • Assist the Product Manager in effective backlog management, ensuring clarity, prioritization, and alignment of items with business goals.
  • Champion Agile values and quality practices, coordinate across organizations, and coach team members on process improvements and best practices.
  • Work closely with senior-level client leadership and business stakeholders, advising on process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Guide the development team in self-organization, cross-functionality, and adopting Agile principles to maximize performance.
  • Mediate conflicts, resolve issues, and ensure healthy communication between the development team, Product Manager, and stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and applying Agile best practices.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a technical discipline, or any other relevant discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience. 
  • Proven track record managing large-scale software development, data management, and system integration initiatives.
  • Skilled in facilitating briefings with senior leadership and capturing actionable outcomes from meetings and stakeholder requests.
  • Proficient with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) and Kanban methodologies is highly desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively and interact effectively with stakeholders and team members.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAFe/Agile.
  • Certified SAFe/Agile/Scrum certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with the VA or other Government agencies.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.
