Wells Fargo Channel Finance provides asset-based working capital lines of credit and accounts receivable purchase facilities to technology companies across the globe with credit facilities up to $3B. The Underwriter will partner with Senior Management, Relationship Management, and Business Development to support the growth and management of new and existing client relationships. This individual will be responsible for leading and supporting the underwriting, documentation, and closing of complex transactions with well-supported risk analysis and recommendations.

In this role, you will:
- Lead deal teams by coordinating with Originations, Relationship Management, Credit, and Product partners to underwrite, document, and close new and existing senior secured asset-based loans and unsecured accounts receivable purchase facilities for public and private companies, including sponsor-owned companies, ranging in size from $5MM to $3B.
- Analyze collateral, historical and projected financial statements, cash flows, liquidity, relevant valuation metrics, and market position.
- Coordinate and drive the scope of due diligence, including collateral-focused field examinations, inventory appraisals, quality of earnings reviews, and background investigations.
- Organize diligence meetings to assess the quality and strength of management and develop a deeper understanding of the borrower's business, financial profile, and industry position.
- Identify critical transactional and structural risks, complete in-depth diligence on key focus areas, and propose situation-appropriate mitigants or structuring alternatives.
- Prepare comprehensive credit approval and funding memoranda and present underwritten transactions to credit and senior management with clear, well-supported recommendations.
- Review and negotiate legal documents to ensure transactions are appropriately documented in accordance with credit approval.
- Oversee seamless onboarding of new clients in coordination with Portfolio Management.
- Manage client and internal stakeholders' expectations throughout the approval and loan closing process through frequent and effective communication.
- Actively engage on special projects and serve as a mentor to junior team members.
- 5+ years of Secured Lending Underwriting experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Asset Based Lending and/or Supply Chain Finance experience
- Experience with private equity firms
- Customer facing experience
- Secured lending legal loan documentation and negotiation experience
