ROLE SUMMARY
The Lead Technical Support Engineer – Power Conversion and Storage Solutions serves as the primary technical interface between GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage and its customers across North America. This lead-level role owns the technical customer relationship from pre-commissioning through post-commissioning support, ensuring seamless solution delivery and long-term operational success. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in complex power conversion and storage operational needs, energy storage, and power conversion technologies with the leadership presence to influence both customer stakeholders and internal teams.
This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of technology, customer success, and business growth, requiring equal parts engineering depth, field experience, and relationship management excellence.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Technical Engagement

  • Serve as the lead technical point of contact for customers throughout North America, building long-term, trusted partnerships with customer engineering and operations teams
  • Lead technical discussions with customer projects and technical leaders for issue resolution and technical solutions in response to RFIs/RFQs
  • Represent GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage's technical capabilities and product value proposition with confidence and credibility

Post-Commissioning Support & Field Operations

  • Maintain an active, ongoing technical relationship with customers following system commissioning, serving as a trusted point of escalation for operational questions and technical issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for field issues involving power conversion systems, inverters, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in live, mission-critical complex power conversion and storage environments
  • Monitor system performance trends and proactively identify opportunities to optimize reliability, availability, and efficiency
  • Coordinate with GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage service teams to ensure timely, high-quality resolution of post-commissioning technical issues
  • Issue Resolution: Address technical deviations promptly, manage and track fault reports through to closure, and provide expert technical support to site engineers both remotely and on-site to minimize system downtime and maintain customer operational continuity
  • Conduct periodic technical reviews and site visits to assess system health and strengthen customer relationships
  • Document field findings, resolutions, and lessons learned to drive continuous product and service improvement

Internal Stakeholder Alignment

  • Act as the voice of the customer internally, clearly communicating technical requirements, field feedback, and customer priorities across the organization
  • Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, Leadership
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure customer commitments are met on time, on budget, and to specification

Technical Documentation & Reporting

  • Produce high-quality technical documentation including post-commissioning site assessments, root cause analysis summaries, and customer-facing technical specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of open technical issues, field performance trends, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Contribute to the development of commissioning procedures, field service guidelines, and GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage internal knowledge base resources
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on key account technical status, field issues, and customer health indicators

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 6 years of relevant engineering experience in power systems or related fields
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical customer-facing environments
  • Fluency in English - verbal and written
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% annually

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Power Conversion / Inverter Technology – Practical experience with industrial inverters, UPS systems, rectifiers, and power electronics in high-availability, mission-critical settings
  • Hands-On Field Experience – Demonstrated experience leading or supporting commissioning of complex power conversion and storage systems, including system integration, functional testing, and customer acceptance
  • Customer Engagement – experience managing technical customer relationships, leading design and operational reviews, and representing company technical capabilities externally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with power monitoring platforms and energy management tools
  • Familiarity with relevant North American and international standards: NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, IEC, ASHRAE
  • Prior experience in field engineering, application engineering, or technical account management role
  • Experience with GE Vernova Power Conversion and Storage or equivalent power conversion and energy storage product lines
  • Experience working with large-scale industrial or utility-scale power conversion and storage operators

#LI-Remote - This is a remote position

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
