Job Description:

Learning Experience Designer
Why this role matters

As a Learning Experience Designer at Wheels, you’ll use curiosity, creativity, and a consultative approach to turn business and performance needs into engaging digital and live learning for employees and customers. You’ll influence learning strategy, partner with subject matter experts, Product Management, and stakeholders to uncover needs, challenge assumptions, and bring the right solutions to life—with meaningful ownership, broad cross-functional exposure, and room to grow your craft. In this role, you’ll help employees and customers build the knowledge and skills to succeed while shaping how learning needs are diagnosed and solutions are selected.

What you’ll get to do
  • Solve learning and performance challenges from discovery through evaluation. Identify gaps and create digital and in-person solutions aligned to learner and business needs.
  • Be a learning consultant and trusted partner. Collaborate with SMEs, Product Management, and stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions grounded in learning principles and business knowledge.
  • Choose the right format and make complexity clear. Turn specialized information into practical eLearning, video, instructor-led experiences, simulations, job aids, or performance support.
  • Bring great ideas to the table. Blend instructional design, visual storytelling, technology, collaboration, and experimentation to create useful, engaging learning.
  • Design for everyone and improve beyond launch. Apply accessibility and inclusive or universal design principles, then use feedback, assessment, and data to evaluate and improve learning.
  • Explore what’s next and strengthen the learning culture. Apply emerging practices and AI-enabled tools, share expertise, and learn through collaboration.

You might love this role if you...
  • Ask thoughtful questions and turn complex information into simple, intuitive experiences.
  • Balance big-picture thinking with hands-on creation while managing multiple priorities and leaving room for iteration.
  • Learn independently, experiment, build new skills, and collaborate to strengthen others’ ideas.
  • Welcome feedback, share your perspective, and use learner data to improve your work.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced learning designer with a strong foundation in instructional design and adult learning, curiosity to keep growing, and a distinctive mix of skills and creative strengths. If you can make an impact, apply even if you don’t meet every preferred qualification.

Required
  • 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, training development, or a related field.
  • Experience managing learning projects from needs analysis through design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience creating digital learning with authoring tools such as Articulate 360.
  • Clear communication in writing, conversation, and visuals; consult effectively with stakeholders; manage projects; and simplify complex information.
  • Knowledge of adult learning, accessibility, and inclusive or universal design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred

Your experience might also include:

  • Experience with multimedia and AI-enabled learning tools, such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, video, web design, HTML, or animation.
  • Experience with iterative methods such as SAM, Agile/Scrum, design thinking, or rapid prototyping.
  • Familiarity with learning analytics, LMS platforms (Workday),
  • Designing product, systems, process, technical, or customer education.

Show us how you think

Please include a portfolio or work samples that show your learning design approach, such as eLearning, videos, storyboards, facilitator materials, simulations, job aids, or performance support.
