Job Name: Learning Technologist (Contractor)
Department: Customer Success
Project Duration: 10 - 30 hours/week
Role Overview:
The Learning Technologist will use available technology to create and implement methods to manipulate, ingest, style, and enhance the wide variety of educational materials we receive from enterprise customers for use in a learning platform delivered primarily as a web-based application.
- Review various content file formats and determine the conversion method to transfer the content into our content management system, BluePrint
- Develop or modify scripts for automating content conversion as needed
- Create and/or manipulate CSV files to enable the import of content
- Work with customers to define all necessary styles and create CSS for online courses
- Perform post-import quality assurance (QA) for HTML/CSS as needed
- Learn and use industry advances to keep delivering exceptional learning experiences
Required Technical Skills:
A Learning Technologist must have…
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability and desire to quickly find and implement technical solutions
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Regular Expressions, and at least one programming language, Ruby preferred.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and experience demonstrating and explaining work to less tech-savvy colleagues.
- Externally we typically seek 2 years learning technology experience, ideally with an enterprise-level SaaS company
- Experience with MathML and digital mathtypes
- Experience with HTML or XML parsing and manipulation
- Experience with reading and manipulating tables of data and/or content.
- Experience with a learning management system (LMS)
- Experience working with a content management system

- Experience with Ruby and parsing gems (Nokogiri, CSV)
