Job Summary

Coordinate and direct the movement of internal and external customer’s freight through the respective supply chain in an efficient and timely manner. Our freight representation is domestic and international. Duties include but are not limited to data entry; tracking freight, create customer billing, customer and vendor follow up, negotiation of vendor pricing documentation and paperwork compliance. Represent company in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional customer service.

Job Description

Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday - Friday

Key Accountabilities:

  • Communicate with all customers and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Record and allocate all requests for pickup and delivery within the established countries for all customer freight.
  • Maintain daily entry in the respective freight management systems for domestic and international freight.
  • Maintain complete records for customer billing
  • Direct dispatch of drivers and vendor drivers.
  • Negotiation of pricing current and potential vendors.
  • Maintain daily contact with vendors to ensure on time delivery of customer freight.
  • Maintain Mexican Inventory with accurate records of all customer material being stored to ensure proper billing.
  • Continuously increase knowledge of company procedures, products and services.
  • Document, investigate and report damaged customer material to Manager/Supervisor.
  • Maintain metric reports as required by management and or customers.
  • Proactively seek out new pricing with current vendors.
  • Complete administrative duties timely and accurately.
  • Maintain specified spreadsheets.
  • Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information.
  • All other duties assigned by reporting Manager/Supervisor.
  • Participate, support and comply with all health, safety and 6S initiatives and requirements.
  • Meet TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma and/or 4 years with related experience in international transportation, logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience/exposure to domestic and international logistics and transportation
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations, US Customs Compliance, C-TPAT, FAST, PIP and/or ACE e-Manifest
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and at a fast pace.
  • Good knowledge of geographical countries to facilitate efficient routing of customer material.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; able to give feedback; puts success of team above own interests; and contributes to building a positive team attitude.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Previous experience as freight management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, or related field of study

Job Compensation

Compensation up to $28/hr based on experience
