Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of visual designers (including senior and junior-level roles), providing creative direction, feedback, mentorship, and performance management to strengthen design quality and team capability
Establish and evolve design strategy that supports business goals, brand positioning, channel needs, and customer experience priorities across both consumer and professional segments
Own creative planning and prioritization across the design portfolio, partnering with Marketing, Sales, and Product Management to align project intake, timelines, and deliverables with key business milestones and go-to-market plans
Lead resource planning and workload management across the design team, balancing capacity, skill sets, deadlines, and project complexity while ensuring high-quality output and on-time delivery
Serve as the primary design liaison to cross-functional stakeholders, driving clarity, alignment, and decision-making across Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams
Oversee and guide creative development across omnichannel deliverables including websites, landing pages, apps, email campaigns, social content, retail merchandising, packaging support, print collateral, and professional channel toolkits
Maintain hands-on design responsibilities (~40%), personally leading high-visibility or high-complexity projects from concept through execution, while modeling best practices and elevating creative standards across the team
Ensure design excellence and consistency by evolving brand guidelines, templates, and modular frameworks that enable scalable production across multiple formats, channels, and business units
Guide the creative development of professional channel storytelling, ensuring dealer, installer, distributor, and trade-facing assets are compelling, clear, and aligned with product value propositions
Provide oversight and creative direction for scalable print and physical collateral including brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, product guides, signage, channel kits, and partner toolkits, ensuring production-ready quality and vendor readiness
Provide design leadership for training and enablement content including sales presentations, onboarding toolkits, product education modules, and field training resources supporting internal teams and external partners
Lead the creative vision for trade shows and experiential activations, including booth branding, environmental design, demo storytelling, signage systems, and customer engagement zones for key industry events and roadshows
Oversee collaboration with external agencies, contractors, printers, and fabrication vendors to ensure high-quality execution across print, packaging, and event production deliverables
•Drive continuous improvement in design workflows, creative processes, and project execution methods to improve speed, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration
Stay informed on design trends, tools, and best practices, and ensure the team incorporates modern approaches that improve brand relevance and creative performance
Communicate creative strategy, design rationale, and project progress to stakeholders and executive leadership, ensuring alignment to business goals and clear decision-making
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams
Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed
Motivate and lead a high performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members
Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per the company’s policies
Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications
Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the CG mission, vision and values
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, UX Design, or a related field
A strong portfolio of omnichannel campaign work, brand visualization, and experience design is required
10+ years of professional experience in visual design, brand experience design, or creative development
3+ years of leadership experience, including people management, mentorship, or leading creative teams and project portfolios
Demonstrated experience developing creative across both digital and traditional channels including web, email, print collateral, packaging support, training content, and trade-event experiences
Proven ability to define and lead design strategy aligned to business objectives, customer needs, and channel requirements
Strong people leadership skills including coaching, performance development, feedback delivery, and talent development
Strong project prioritization and resource planning skills, with the ability to balance multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Ability to partner effectively with Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams, aligning creative development to go-to-market strategy and commercial execution
Strong creative judgment and ability to lead concept development and critique across multiple designers and disciplines
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, and presentation software; experience with prototyping tools is a plus
Strong understanding of print production standards including typography, color management, dielines, material selection, and vendor-ready file preparation
Strong conceptual and spatial design thinking, including the ability to guide trade-event booth and experiential design development
Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders
Ability to work with limited supervision, manage ambiguity, and drive progress across multiple stakeholders and timelines
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in design, graphics, UX, etc.
Certification in design strategy, HCD, user research a plus
Experience leading creative development within consumer electronics, smart home, automotive, access control, or adjacent product categories
Experience partnering with exhibit fabrication teams, printers, and agencies to deliver high-quality trade-event executions on tight timelines
