A day in the life

The Procurement Manager plays a critical role in developing, owning and continuously improving procurement programs that support Prologis’ Energy Solutions business. The Manager will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to build resilient, cost-effective, and scalable procurement strategies that enable Prologis to remain a competitive Developer and Owner of energy projects.

This position requires a strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution skills. The ideal candidate brings experience sourcing, negotiating, and executing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts and master supply agreements, along with the ability to navigate evolving regulatory and market conditions impacting the renewable energy industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead competitive sourcing and negotiations for EPC selection and renewable energy projects.
  • Develop category expertise across energy and renewables, including supply chains, cost drivers, and key suppliers.
  • Build and enhance strategic buying programs by consolidating suppliers, aggregating spend, and standardizing solutions.
  • Monitor market trends and supply chain risks, including cost volatility, supplier health, regulatory factors, sustainability requirements and deliver actionable risk mitigation solutions.
  • Manage multiple sourcing initiatives end-to-end, setting performance standards and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to define requirements, align expectations, and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Ensure accuracy and rigor in contracts and Procurement documentation.
  • Support the evolution of Procurement and promote a culture of effective spend management.
  • Travel as needed (10–20% domestically and internationally).

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • 5+ years of procurement and sourcing experience, including negotiations, contracting, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred); MBA a plus.
  • Experience conducting and evaluating RFPs for renewable energy vendors and technologies.
  • Proven success reducing total cost of ownership, managing risk, and improving supplier performance.
  • Confidence to deliver effective recommendations and influence cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in renewable energy or energy-related industries.
  • Exposure to categories such as Battery Energy Storage Systems, transformers, and Long-Term Service Agreements.
  • Exposure and familiarity with navigating market and regulatory conditions impacting the energy and renewables sector.

Hiring Salary Range of: $109,000 - $173,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
