SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Program Design Manager. As a Program Design Manager, you will be pivotal in refining and driving clarity in the business requirements necessary to ensure new carriers, products, conventions and coverages for our Commercial business unit are successfully implemented. To effectively accomplish this task, you will collaborate with multiple departments within SageSure, including teams like Product Development, Actuarial, Claims, Customer Service, Software, Product Implementation, Sales & Marketing. This position demands an intellectually curious individual with a strong background in Commercial BOP, who is motivated to learn, grow, and make a significant impact. 

 

What you’d be doing: 

  • Lead and develop a team providing coaching, mentorship, performance feedback, and career development support. 
  • Foster an engaged, inclusive, and high-performing team culture across remote, hybrid, and in-office team members through regular communication, collaboration, and development opportunities. 
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to clarify project scope, define business objectives, and establish success criteria for new carrier implementations, product launches, and other strategic initiatives. 
  • Guide the development and documentation of detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment between business needs, operational processes, and technology solutions. 
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of process flows, requirements documentation, implementation plans, and other supporting materials necessary for successful execution. 
  • Build strong partnerships with business, technology, and operational stakeholders through a combination of virtual collaboration, office visits, workshops, and in-person working sessions. 
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and other technology teams to assess feasibility, identify dependencies, and ensure solutions effectively support business objectives. 
  • Provide clear and consistent communication to stakeholders, including senior leadership, regarding project objectives, progress, risks, implementation status, and post-launch outcomes. 
  • Lead change management and go-to-market activities to support successful adoption of new products, carriers, processes, and business capabilities. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Commercial business, providing guidance and consultation on business processes, product changes, and operational impacts. 
  • Monitor program performance, implementation results, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous enhancement efforts. 
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that streamline operations, improve stakeholder experiences, and increase organizational efficiency. 
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment and decision-making across multiple teams, departments, and stakeholder groups. 
  • Lead and support special projects and strategic initiatives that advance Commercial business priorities and organizational goals. 

 

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Finance, or Risk Management. 
  • 8+ years of insurance industry experience, working in Underwriting or a Product Development capacity with insurance products, preferably commercial insurance 
  • Experience in project management and familiarity with technology concepts. 
  • Experience documenting business requirements.  
  • Expertise in quoting and policy administration.  
  • A “do-what-it-takes” attitude when it comes to accomplishing tasks.   
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills. 
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • A keen awareness and sensitivity to the customer experience, with a passion for delivering exceptional service. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically for team meetings, stakeholder engagement, office visits, offsites, and company events (approximately 10–15% annually).   
  • Ability to lead and develop geographically dispersed teams across multiple locations, time zones, and work arrangements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to foster engagement, inclusion, accountability, and team culture within a distributed workforce. 

Highly preferred candidates also have: 

  • SQL experience 
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation
