In this hybrid role based at our Chicago headquarters you will lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise digital platforms and software solutions. Provide technical leadership while actively contributing to architecture, development, and problem resolution across multiple technologies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers while remaining actively involved in the design, development, and optimization of digital platforms, software applications, cloud services, integrations, databases, and analytics solutions.
- Act as a technical leader and working manager, solving complex, cross-platform technical problems and while contributing to the implementation of end-to-end solutions spanning front-end, back-end (APIs), databases, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Maintain an understanding of products, platforms, and their interactions to design scalable, enterprise-grade solutions and guide the team on how new products and features integrate into the broader technology ecosystem.
- Oversee and participate in the analysis and definition of software requirements, ensure specifications, standards, and architectural decisions align with business, security, and scalability needs.
- Lead the proposal, evaluation, and recommendation of software solutions during design and development phases for complex and mission-critical business processes and provide hands-on technical direction.
- Manage and contribute to the delivery of new technologies, proofs of concept, and prototype initiatives across web and mobile platforms, balancing innovation with operational stability.
- Estimate and manage the cost, effort, and resource requirements for new and enhanced systems, support business cases, proposals, and prioritization decisions.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders to align on execution, system design, requirements, feature sets, functionality, and known limitations of applications and platforms.
- Manage the identification, escalation, and resolution of technical issues, working directly with development and product teams to verify fixes and ensure technical design artifacts are completed before build and implementation phases.
- Establish and maintain a centralized, up‑to‑date job and automation library, ensure documentation, ownership, standards, and dependencies are defined to support operational continuity, auditability, and knowledge sharing.
- Plan, oversee and lead the work of the team to meet functional and individual operational objectives and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Responsible for hire, fire, performance, discipline and problem-resolution decisions.
Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with Privacy Act directives.

Education
Minimum - 4 Year Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT or related
Years of Experience
Minimum - 8 Years of Technical Core Operations or related
Preferred - 2 Years of People Management
In Lieu of Education
10 Years of Technical Core Operations including people management
License/Certifications/Training
Preferred - OpCon Certified Professional
Preferred - GoAnywhere Administrator Associate Certification
Compensation & Benefits:
Typical hiring range: $106,500.00 to $182,600.00 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
