About Us:

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach. 

Position Summary:

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for researching, drafting, coordinating, tracking, and executing marketing and communications projects for GRO Community and all subsidiary entities.

This role supports the communications, marketing, website, and content needs of the organization. Responsibilities include content research and development, website management, SEO support, project coordination, marketing material creation, and communications execution.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is expected to conduct research, identify communication needs, recommend solutions, and execute assigned projects under the direction of the Director of Strategic Communications.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines, and following established workflows and approval processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications & Content Development

  • Conduct research for blogs, articles, newsletters, website content, thought leadership materials, and organizational communications.
  • Develop outlines, content briefs, content summaries, website copy drafts, and other written communications materials for review and approval.
  • Adapt content for multiple brands, programs, audiences, and communication channels while maintaining consistency with approved messaging and organizational priorities.
  • Support content development for both internal and external communications initiatives (flyers, newsletters, etc.).
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions accurately and within established deadlines.

Website Management & SEO Support

  • Update website content, program information, service pages, blogs, and announcements across GRO Community and subsidiary entity websites.
  • Publish approved content and maintain website accuracy.
  • Conduct website audits and content reviews to identify outdated information, broken links, formatting issues, accessibility concerns, and user experience opportunities.
  • Conduct keyword research and support SEO optimization initiatives.
  • Assist with website performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Recommend website improvements and content optimization opportunities.
  • Escalate technical issues and coordinate resolution as needed.

Marketing Operations & Project Coordination

  • Manage assigned projects, deliverables, approvals, deadlines, dependencies, and required follow-up activities.
  • Maintain content calendars, campaign trackers, project trackers, and departmental documentation.

Marketing Materials & Communications Support

  • Create flyers, one-pagers, presentations, digital assets, and other communications materials as assigned.
  • Ensure all materials align with approved brand standards, messaging, and organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and partners to support the production and distribution of approved materials.
  • Support campaign execution across digital, print, and community engagement channels.
  • Assist with internal communications materials as assigned.

Event & Community Support

  • Support marketing logistics for community outreach activities, events, and activations.
  • Capture and organize content from programs, events, and community engagements as assigned.
  • Maintain inventory of marketing materials and promotional items.
  • Represent GRO Community professionally at events and community engagements.
  • Attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Ability to conduct research and develop recommendations supported by facts and data.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage communications activities across multiple organizations, brands, and audiences.
  • Ability to follow established direction, project scope, content requirements, workflows, and approval processes.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive organizational information.

Work Setting:

  • Full-time, in-office position

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (English, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations/Advertising, Marketing or related field)
  • Two to four years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, content marketing, or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress and website content management. 
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and keyword research. 
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. 
  • Experience with Canva required; Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred. 
  • Experience in nonprofit, community-based, healthcare, behavioral health, or social impact organizations preferred but not required.
