Job Summary

The Master Data Project Manager owns the end-to-end process for new SKU setup and product lifecycle master data in ERP, including phase-in/phase-out (PIPO). This role ensures data, approvals, and sequencing are completed accurately and on time to support product launches, execution, and reporting. The Master Data Project Manager coordinates across Product Management, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure products are launch-ready and aligned to business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

SKU Setup Process Standardization & Master Data Governance

  • Define and document the end-to-end SKU setup process, and improve bottlenecks as they arise.
  • Own SKU setup from request through ERP activation, with accountability for launch readiness.
  • Establish clear ownership, and ensure completeness and accuracy of all required data elements, including Material Master, BOMs, Routings, Planning parameters, Costing inputs, Compliance documentation (SDS, TDS, COO, etc.), Transportation data and documentation, Forecast, and Marketing.
  • Ensure BOM, routing, costing, and planning parameters have rule-based validation, and coordinate corrections cross-functionally.

  • Partner with Compliance and IT teams to align workflows, permissions, and system design.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Lead cross-functional data coordination for new product launches (in alignment with PM Stage-Gate), SKU extensions (locations, packaging, variations), and product changes requiring system updates.
  • Build and manage an integrated timeline, critical path, and central tracking process aligned to PMAP (Product Management / R&D owned), MOC (Quality / R&D owned), and ERP master data readiness milestones.
  • Identify risks, manage dependencies, and escalate issues that could delay readiness.
  • Partner with Product Management, R&D, and Quality to align process timing with ERP readiness.
  • Provide regular stakeholder updates on SKU pipeline, readiness status, and risks and delays.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for SKU setup issues.

Project Management - Phase-In / Phase-Out (PIPO)

  • Define and manage a structured PIPO process, including tasks, ownership, and decision points.
  • Coordinate inventory strategy, including build, depletion, and obsolescence.
  • Align planning, procurement, and production activities.
  • Maintain oversight of active phase-in products, phase-out timelines and risks, and portfolio-level impacts; maintain a PIPO master list for historical tracking.
  • Ensure ERP data and timing remain aligned during phase-in/phase-out transitions.

Data Structure & Reporting

  • Own governance of key material master fields and classification structures.
  • Define and standardize category codes and hierarchies across material levels.
  • Ensure master data supports reporting, analytics, and decision-making, not just transactions.
  • Establish and maintain data standards for parent/child hierarchies, valid category combinations, and naming standards and mapping tables.
  • Ensure data structures support consistent reporting and KPI definition, and cross-functional analytics (finance, planning, sales, procurement).
  • Identify and resolve issues such as misaligned, inconsistent, or missing category assignments, and overly granular or redundant values.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Teamwork

  • Builds trust with others by encouraging open dialogue and collaboration. Seeks diverse perspectives to create stronger solutions.

Managing Change

  • Able to keep on track despite difficulties or barriers that may be encountered. Addresses conflict to find common ground solutions.

Drive for Results

  • Always has a sense of urgency to solve problems with actions. Seeks to align goals with attainment of organizational strategy. Has a sense of ownership and personal accountability for actions taken.

Education and Experience:
