Salary Range: $80,000 -$100,000 / year

Summary:

Under the direction of the Director, Power Generation Systems and Lead Project Engineers, the Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for new product development and implementation and must demonstrate high levels of technical skill and experience related to the application of their discipline.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs assignments of a complex nature requiring a high degree of technical competence while planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects related to power generation enclosure systems design. 
  • Conceives and plans projects to explore and resolve product or process problems, defines and selects new concepts and approaches to the design or development of new or improved products, equipment or processes.
  • Consolidates and presents the results of design reviews of major projects to members of the engineering group.
  • Provide technical guidance and act as a mentor to less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials using the release process.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior.
  • All other duties assigned by management.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 3 plus years of applicable experience, including direct involvement in the design and manufacturing of mechanical systems used in the power generation industry, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and computer tools (MS Office, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing process including welding, sheet metal forming, and fabrication.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, assemblies, or technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or product development environments.
  • Interest in power generation, industrial equipment, or energy systems.
