Your role at Baxter

Join a team that's redefining patient care through innovative medical technology. In this role, you'll help design and develop next-generation infusion systems that directly contribute to saving and sustaining lives. You'll tackle complex engineering challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and bring new products from concept through commercialization.

What You'll be Doing

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms for advanced electro-mechanical medical devices.
  • Translate customer and user needs into product requirements, specifications, and system architectures.
  • Apply expertise in plastics, sheet metal, castings, DFM/DFA, drive mechanisms, and fluid systems.
  • Perform engineering analyses including tolerance stack-ups, structural, thermal, fatigue, and reliability assessments.
  • Utilize CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks preferred; FEA experience a plus) to create and validate designs.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Lead testing, troubleshooting, design improvements, and product qualification activities.
  • Support product transfer to manufacturing, optimizing designs for scalability, quality, compliance, and cost.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1-3 years of engineering experience; medical device or infusion pump experience is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD modeling and mechanical design analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product development, and engineering best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76,000 to $104,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
