Emerson is seeking an accomplished sales professional to lead our national account relationships with the country’s largest home center retailers — Lowe’s, Home Depot, Menards, Ace Hardware, Do-It-Best / True Value and Orgill as well as wholesale plumbing reps & distributors — with our EasyHeat product line (roof and gutter de-icing cable, pipe heat-tracing cable, and related products). This is a high-visibility role for a driven relationship builder who thrives on translating retail category strategy into profitable, sustained growth.

As National Accounts Manager, you will have an end-to-end relationship with these marquee accounts — coordinating sales, merchandising, and operational execution across store, regional, and corporate levels. You will partner closely with each retailer’s corporate buying, category management, and supply chain teams to secure shelf space, drive seasonal sell-through, and defend Emerson’s position against competing heated cable brands.   He or she will be responsible for managing a group of independent sales representatives.

This position is based partially remote near Rosemont, Illinois reporting to the Director of Sales for Heating Cable Solutions.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Own and grow the commercial relationship with major retail accounts, including possibly Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Menards, working directly with corporate buying/category management teams and through the independent sales representative network.
  • Develop and execute joint business plans and seasonal sales strategies, including planogram placement, promotional calendars, seasonal resets, pricing, and merchandising programs to drive profitable growth ahead of the winter selling season.
  • Lead cross-functional account execution, coordinating national accounts, independent sales representatives, and Emerson sales, marketing and planning teams to achieve revenue, margin, market share, share-of-shelf, and POS objectives.
  • Leverage POS, inventory, and market data to improve forecasting, replenishment, inventory turns, and in-stock performance while identifying retail trends, seasonal demand patterns, and competitive activity.
  • Represent the Emerson EasyHeat brand with key retail partners, leading line reviews, seasonal planning meetings, and trade events while ensuring successful implementation of programs and continuously identifying opportunities to protect and expand market share.

Who You Are:
You persuade with clarity and conviction, sharing ideas in a compelling manner that earns commitment from retail buyers and internal stakeholders alike. You navigate complexity with ease, quickly focusing on what matters most in a fast-moving, seasonally driven retail category. Your business insight lets you connect market and competitive dynamics to concrete account tactics. You build relationships with genuine interpersonal savvy across every level of an organization — from store operations to corporate category leadership — and you remain resilient and forward-focused through the inevitable challenges of a seasonal, high-stakes retail business.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of direct selling experience in the electrical or home improvement retail distribution industry.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 65% annually within the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, including regular visits to retailer headquarters and distribution centers.
  • A valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

One or more of the following is preferred, but not required:

  • Prior experience as a National Accounts Manager within the home center or hardware distribution channel.
  • Direct experience selling freeze-protection or seasonal products.
  • Corporate or regional sales experience calling on large retailers in the US and Canada.
