The National Sales Manager, Watts Drains - Blucher & Orion is responsible for the development and execution of national sales strategies to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer engagement across the drain product portfolio. This role leads the commercial growth of the business by developing strategic relationships with key customers, identifying new market opportunities, and executing sales initiatives that support the company’s overall business objectives.

Scope of Position

  • This individual serves as a strategic leader within the organization, collaborating closely with Product Management, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and Regional Sales teams and Manufacturers Representatives to develop and implement growth strategies that strengthen Watts’ position in the drainage market.
  • The National Sales Manager is accountable for delivering sales performance, identifying market trends, developing channel opportunities, and ensuring customers receive exceptional support throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • This position is responsible for supervision of assigned Business Development Managers within our Drains platforms as assigned.
  • Reports to the Vice President of Sales, Drains.
  • Requires frequent travel to customer sites, partner locations, and project meetings
  • This role is remote and is based in the US.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute national sales strategies to achieve annual revenue, profitability, market share, and growth objectives for the drains product portfolio.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic business plans aligned with organizational goals and market opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with key national accounts, distributors, contractors, engineers, and channel partners.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for organic growth, new product adoption, market expansion, and increased customer penetration.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, customer requirements, and industry developments to develop actionable sales strategies.
  • Establish sales objectives, territory strategies, and performance expectations to drive achievement of business goals.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate sales personnel to improve performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Provide leadership and direction to field sales teams, manufacturer representatives, and channel partners to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and growth plans for review with senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, product launch plans, promotional initiatives, and customer engagement programs.
  • Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure effective execution of customer commitments and business objectives.
  • Develop and present business reviews, growth strategies, and sales performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing strategies, and sales initiatives in accordance with company policies and profitability objectives.
  • Identify and resolve complex customer and channel issues through sound business judgment and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead strategic planning activities and provide recommendations regarding investments, market opportunities, customer segmentation, and sales resource allocation.
  • Monitor and manage sales performance metrics, ensuring accountability for business results.
  • Participate in industry associations, trade shows, customer events, and market development activities to strengthen Watts' market presence.
  • Promote and support the company's values of Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, and Transparency.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by management.
  • Travel at a minimum 50% as required to support customer meetings, sales teams, industry events, and business development activities

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive sales experience within manufacturing, commercial construction, plumbing, drainage, water technologies, or related industries.
  • 3+ years of sales leadership, sales management, or national account management experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing growth strategies within a multi-channel sales environment.
  • Proven ability to develop key customer relationships and drive revenue growth through strategic selling initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate market opportunities, customer trends, financial performance, and competitive dynamics.
  • Experience preparing sales forecasts, business plans, and growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound business decisions affecting revenue, profitability, and customer relationships.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, team development, and performance management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and business practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within drainage, plumbing, water management, infrastructure, commercial construction, or related product categories.
  • MBA or advanced business degree.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed sales organizations.
  • Strong understanding of specification sales, distribution channels, and commercial construction markets.
  • Experience working with manufacturer's representatives, engineers, contractors, distributors, and national account customers.
  • Knowledge of market development strategies, pricing management, and channel optimization.
  • Experience launching new products and managing complex growth initiatives.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at any Watts Water location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.
