Pay Range

$118,100.00-$162,400.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

The role is responsible for increasing Johns Manville’s industrial portfolio sales through growing its technical specification influence in the industrial market, working with engineers, owners, and contractors.  The successful candidate will be responsible for leading specification efforts and active project tracking in North America, working in close coordination with the territory-based sales organization.  The role will also support the product management and development team to prioritize critical product development initiatives to enhance JM’s competitive position as the preferred solutions provider in industrial insulation market.  The position works across multiple functional areas including product management, sales, marketing, I&C, and manufacturing to coordinate go-to-market technical initiatives and will participate on cross-functional projects representing the industrial portfolio. .

The ideal location for this candidate is Houston, TX, Denver, CO, or Chicago, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with design professionals to position Johns Manville Performance Materials systems/products in their specifications.
  • Lead, in conjunction with the field sales team, portfolio team, I&C, and marketing, the strategic planning and execution of technical and specification development within the industrial business.
  • Identify and target specifier firms who do not specify Johns Manville Insulation to rewrite their master specifications to include Johns Manville Performance Materials systems/products
  • Deliver AIA or credit approved presentations via video conferencing and/or in person
  • Implement active project tracking and job securement metrics for the top 25 targeted active industrial projects within North America.
  • Develop and maintain construction lead generation pipeline to aid sales efforts via various industry platforms
  • Evaluate market trends and competitive products to continually assess portfolio position and identify critical product line technical initiatives to align with market needs.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key specification and application market influencers involved in industrial insulation and corrosion prevention.
  • Contribute to favorable JM specification position within industry associations, standard/code bodies and technical organizations.
  • Provide lead VOC input in new product development and portfolio maintenance initiatives, aligning with the needs of the market, representing the voice of the owner, design and applicator channels.
  • Lead the development efforts for the tools to improve the efficiency of the entire specifier services team including standardized substitution requests, and specifications.
  • Participate in related regional events and trade shows to showcase Johns Manville’s technical knowledge, conducting educational seminars, and presenting JM technical abilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management with a minimum of 5 years experience working with technical individuals that specify construction materials and building design.
  • 10+ years of insulation business experience with commercial and customer facing responsibility.
  • 6+ years working with or in the engineering community in an influencer, decision making, or technical sales role.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 60% of the time (company provided vehicle).
  • Technical knowledge in the power and energy industries, including oil & gas and the various manufacturing, processing, and upgrading operations and design requirements and considerations related to facility engineering and maintenance.
