Position Overview

The Operational Process Support Manager – Litigation Staffing designs, improves, and supports the operational infrastructure that enables Case Staffing Managers to staff and manage litigation matters across offices. The role partners with Case Staffing Managers to standardize processes, enable technology, and use data to improve workflow efficiency, consistency, and scalability. Additionally, this role builds and maintains the systems, processes, and reporting needed to support matter staffing decisions at scale. This role may be located at any Jackson Lewis Office.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Strategy & Process Optimization

  • Design, implement, and improve standardized litigation staffing processes across offices and regions.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies, gaps, and risks; develop scalable solutions.
  • Develop best practices, SOPs, and guidance to support consistent staffing decisions, workload balancing, and matter transitions.
  • Partner with firm leadership to align staffing operations with business and client service objectives.
  • Create and maintain playbooks, training materials, and documentation for staffing processes.
  • Facilitate onboarding and ongoing enablement for Case Staffing Managers.
  • Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops and regular process reviews.

Technology & Systems Enablement

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize technology that supports staffing workflows and resource management.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for staffing systems and tools.
  • Train and support Case Staffing Managers in effective use of staffing tools.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as liaison between Case Staffing Managers, office leadership, Talent, Finance, and IT.
  • Support change management for staffing processes and tools.
  • Promote consistent practices and clear communication across offices.

Workflow & Capacity Planning Support

  • Develop frameworks and tools for attorney capacity planning and workload distribution.
  • Support staffing managers with caseload management, including transitions for departures, leaves, and new hires.
  • Provide operational support to department leadership on staffing and capacity needs.
  • Create scalable approaches to balancing workload across offices and practice groups.

Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Analyze staffing data to identify trends, forecast needs, and support proactive decisions.
  • Deliver actionable insights to staffing managers and firm leadership to optimize attorney deployment.
  • Track KPIs for staffing efficiency, utilization, and matter coverage.

Skills and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or similar) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in law firm operations, legal project management, litigation support, or a related field.
  • Experience working within litigation environments, preferably employment litigation, strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with attorney staffing, resource management, or practice group operations is highly desirable.

For Colorado, Chicago, California, New York Metro area and Seattle area, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $125,000 and $160,000.  This position is also eligible for annual bonuses.   The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
