Consumer & Residential Workout Specialist

What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for working with internal and external partners to provide a member modified payment solutions allowing them to retain their collateral, repay and prevent loss to the credit union. The primary focus is preventing and/or minimizing potential losses by working with members based on their ability and willingness to pay. The Workout Specialist will work with leaders on recommending criteria utilized to reach a workout decision, i.e. debt to income ratio, loan to value, collateral value, etc., and create procedures documenting the process and expectations. The incumbent will work closely with the members and will serve as the member’s primary point of contact throughout the modification process. In addition, the Workout Specialist is responsible for tracking the volume, monitoring and regularly reporting the programs performance to appropriate leaders and/or committees. Responsibilities include making continuous improvements to ensure the modification options meet desired and pre-established goals.

- Builds and maintains a positive relationship with every customer interaction - manages all customer issues and escalations within the outlined scope
- Makes recommendations in order to enhance the loss prevention process
- Researches, evaluates, designs, and tests the need for and development of process and product changes
- Participates in new and innovative projects to improve efficient servicing operations and successful execution of our strategy
- Proactively engage and collaborate with internal partners to successfully accomplish department and organizational goals
- Track and provide reports on a regular basis on program performance
- Create and coordinate member correspondence as needed
- Monitor compliance with Federal and State residential and consumer lending regulations
- Maintain knowledge relating to credit union compliance regulations, credit union policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications

You’ll be a great fit if you graduated from high school, bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, and you have:
- 1-2 years related experience
- Ability to manually create/calculate LTV /DTI
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to think critically and use sound judgment in decision making
- Strong organizational, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with precise attention to detail
- Ability to deliver important information through effective mediums and track results
- Self-motivated and the ability to motivate others
- Demonstrates flexibility and responds positively to change
- Ability to quickly identify a customer’s needs and provide solutions to problems
- Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced and goal oriented environment
- Highly knowledgeable in regulations relating to lending or collection laws
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel
