ABOUT THE TEAM
Basis Technologies is seeking a Program Manager to advance diversity, inclusion, and equity within our workplace. DEI is a company-wide strategic priority, and we believe in a diverse workforce, where all employees can bring their authentic selves to work and know that they belong and are valued.
We are seeking a seasoned DEI practitioner who will champion, promote, and manage initiatives. Reporting into the Head of DEI this role will ensure we develop and execute a roadmap that increases Basis' representation, foster a culture of inclusion and awareness, and drive equity and fairness in all that we do.
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
This role will support internal and external diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategic initiatives. This includes managing experiences and events that raise the bar on how employees understand DEI across areas like gender identification, race, ethnicity, nationality, the LGBTQ+ community, and people with disabilities, to name a few. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, and balance business needs while providing seamless program execution. You will contribute by:
- Translating best practices in DEI into readily consumable resources and programs aligned to business needs
- Partnering with HR Branding & Operations to develop metrics for measuring the impact and effectiveness of internal DEI initiatives implemented and prepare reports for leadership
- Researching, analyzing and delivering strategic insights, best practices and recommendations for DEI solutions
- Assisting leadership in preparation of DEI deliverables (i.e., presentations, executive summaries, etc.) for key meetings (i.e. Executive DEI Meeting, Community Group (CG) and Task Force etc.)
- Supporting CGs to stay aligned with the CG programming and policy guidelines
- Engaging with the CGs, help organize and drive CG efforts in alignment with Basis Technologies Community Group policies
- Amplifying CG sentiment and providing relevant updates/feedback influential to DEI approach
- Bringing innovative solutions to broaden our DEI portfolio and drive measurable business results
- Creating, maintaining, and disseminating resources in a variety of formats across all levels of the organization
- Earning trust across a range of levels and disciplines to establish yourself and the team as a trusted Subject-Matter Advisor
- Thinking big to identify the root causes of problems through an expanded, holistic view and long-term perspective
- Connecting and inspiring people to drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities
- Identifying, assessing, tracking, and mitigating issues and risks at multiple levels
- Serving as a key accelerator in the growth and development of our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Practice
- Driving our culture towards DEI becoming completely embedded into each employee’s daily life
- Actively leading and supporting efforts to build awareness and trust within underserved communities
- Leading Community Groups and convenings of our internal talent
- Being accountable for the engagement and growth of our internal talent and Community Groups
- Project Management
- Leading documentation and creation of various standard operating practices and procedures to advance our DEI practice
- Serving as a historian of our DEI efforts, managing our respective internal documentation processes
- Serving as a liaison with cross-functional partners (including comms, marketing, and key internal stakeholders) to help advance multiple DEI initiatives
- In collaboration with the Head of DEI, develop, refine and/or execute various deliverables, including DEI needs assessments, program/work plans, summative reports, recommendations memos, presentation decks, etc
- Acknowledging and embracing diversity of thought and opinion, and approach with Beeps, clients, and vendors, regardless of background, culture, and organizational level. Specific examples include but are not limited to: attending DEI initiatives and trainings and/or participating in self-led learning, commit to continuous improvement by actively working on personal and professional growth and working collaboratively with all team members, clients and vendors to build an inclusive culture
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 5+ years experience in program or project management
- 5+ years of relevant DEI experience
- 3-5+ years experience with developing content for large internal audiences on advanced D&I concepts
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience delivering projects across multiple businesses
- Experience and credibility as a thought leader in an environment where the ability to influence, work across a complex matrix, and build relationships is critical
- Strong project management skills, successful teaming with colleagues, and a strong results orientation
- A high energy, results-oriented and resourceful leader who is capable of quickly taking control of their responsibilities and establishing themselves as a credible strategic partner
- A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and leaders
- Experience effectively partnering with HR and business teams to build effective DEI programs and strategies
- Ability to motivate and influence and optimize senior leadership, stakeholders and peer groups
- Influences others to achieve solutions to meet organization’s objectives, and is proactive in providing solutions, resolving issues and overcoming hurdles to results. Effectively collaborates with partners to resolve
- Strong interpersonal awareness and skills
- Attention to detail; strong contracting skills; and a highly organized, process-focused aptitude are required to manage the variety of responsibilities and deliverables
- Bachelor's Degree

- Education, certification, or experience related to event planning
- Understanding of history and interest in equity, race and ethnicity, gender, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, veterans, and marginalized communities or strong willingness to learn and be curious in this space
