Director of Account Management

As manager of this team you will lead and coach a high-performing team of Account Managers, helping them deliver on ambitious targets, as well as roll up your sleeves to work directly with our largest and most complex customers. We are looking for a proactive leader who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in a high-growth environment, and solving complicated problems with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have management and leadership experience scaling a technology sales, growth or account management team, and possess first-class analytical, communication and relationship-building skills, as well as a knack for understanding unique customer needs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop both the long-term vision and strategy for the team and manage day-to-day operations
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and hands-on engagement to ensure the account management team is successfully achieving revenue targets
  • Act as a player-coach and be accountable for increasing revenue overall from existing customers, while also directly working to grow and nurture high-profile customers
  • Recruit, train and lead a team of account management professionals.
  • Coach, mentor and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills including management of the team’s book of business, phone and in-person meetings.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success, and across project44, to ensure client needs are being met through great service and high value-add products
  • Inspire, motivate and enable individual development to promote career growth and to increase impact for project44

Qualifications and Preferred Skills 

  • 7+ years of technology sales experience, ideally with prior people management experience
  • Experience leading sales, customer success and operations in a high-growth technology environment, across a range of industries and customer segments, especially mid-market to enterprise.
  • Preference to SaaS and platform solutions focused on logistics or adjacent industry space
  • Ability to hire, train and coach a high-performance sales and customer success team.
  • Ability to build executive-level relationships with strategic clients and industry thought leaders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, in particular with engineering and product teams to drive product improvements for our clients’ needs.
  • Demonstrated passion and ability to understand and support clients’ business strategies and growth plans
