    Position Overview:

     

    The Director of Brokerage Operations will preferably be based in our Chicago HQ and oversee the analysis and implementation of processes focused on improving Client Service Levels across the organization, with a focus on Echo's most critical Tier-1 Shippers. This role will collaborate with both Carrier Sales and Client sales to understand key pain points a specific account are facing and work with cross functional teams to develop solutions.  Additionally, in this role the Director of Brokerage Operations will work with Carrier Sales and Client Sales Leadership on areas of opportunity related to cross functional business processes. In this position, The Director of Brokerage Operations will be expected to interface with Shippers, Carriers, and Internal Employees regarding Echo's customer service expectations.     

     

    General Responsibilities:

    • Act as key internal stakeholder, leading discussions, diagnosing organizational issues, and implementing process improvement plans focused on improving service levels for Echo's Premiere Tier-1 Shipper Partners.    
    • Lead "Continuous Improvement" initiatives across Echo's brokerage segment (Carrier, Client, Operations) to identify key processes that need to be modified to allow Echo's internal teams to operate with less friction.       
    • Facilitate "market manager" function to help review pricing and volume by tender type and geography across the entire organization.  This role will help Echo understand where we potentially have bottlenecks from a pricing and volume standpoint and work with Carrier Sales and Client Sales to ensure proper steps are taken to address.    
    • Work closely with change management on the training needs of the Carrier and Client Sales organizations, related to process improvement and service excellence around key brokerage initiatives.    

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's level degree with 5-10 years of experience
    • Strong Understanding of Echo's internal Brokerage ecosystem
    • Strong understanding of North American Tier 1 Shipper Needs 
    • Strong Understanding of Echo's Core Systems and Processes
    • Ability to utilize and digest Echo's reporting capabilities
    • 3+ Years of Experience Leading Carrier Sales, Client Sales/Operations Team
    • Superior negotiation and problem solving skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent ability in personal interaction
    • Ability to follow through with tasks to their completion
    • Very organized and detail-oriented

     

    Preferred Experience:

     

    • Excellent Communication Skills (internal and external stakeholders)
    • Solutions Oriented……….this role is about solving problems, not just pointing them out
    • Background creating professional presentation and process documentation

     

     

     

    Work environment/physical demands summary:

     

    This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
