Home Chef is seeking a progressive Food Safety and Quality Assurance Director that will lead the entire Food Safety organization across the business. This candidate will drive a cohesive strategy to match the changing regulations in the industry and ensure Home Chef maintains industry leading food safety systems, programs and compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Provides leadership in the development of a food safety strategy that aligns resources and drives collaboration.
- Responsible for providing food safety related guidance across the organization.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for all food safety related trends, key regulations and legislation.
- Develops food safety and manages internal and external relationships to achieve key functional objectives.
- Develops personnel to drive higher performance level.
- Serves as top food safety expert providing critical analysis and insight on organizational initiatives.
- Trends the effectiveness for compliance and driving continual improvements.
- Serves as key representative on customer, industry and government food safety committees.
- Maintains a high level of expertise on all food safety related subjects, both domestic and international.
- Interacts with key customers to ensure food safety regulations are in place to fully meet their needs.
- Provide direction and guidance on quality and food safety issues for locations.
- Provide leadership and direction to regions as it relates to future Home Chef standards and external supplier standards and expectations.
- Influencing internal and external partners around adherence to policies and procedures.
- Understand the need to continuous improvement in a world of changing regulations.
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of food industry knowledge to influence organizational strategy and execution.
- Combine business/technical expertise with knowledge of industry, competitors, communities and economies to make a significant impact on the achievement of strategic objectives.
- Serve as the “face” of Food Safety for entire Home Chef business
Skills & Experience
- Excellent leadership, customer and internal communication, negotiation and team building skills.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, microbiology or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years’ comprehensive food safety and quality experience with an extensive background in manufacturing food industry, HACCP, USDA or FDA preferred.
- Previous experience with GFSI, SQF and USDA audits.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications.
