Our team is currently looking for a talented individual to fill the role of General Manager, Logistics Information Systems. As a General Manager for Logistics Information Systems, you will guide strategy and implementation of the latest technologies to deliver customer-focused business solutions of the highest quality. This is a global role with personnel in all major regions and supporting a network that operates 24/7. This is a critical role in ensuring the latest technical solutions are available to the organization which includes over 7,500 personnel.

 

Position Summary:

You will already have demonstrated experience managing large teams and significant technology transformations. This person will act as a role model, mentor and change agent for our organization, helping to keep progressing our information capabilities in an ever-changing business climate.

 

As the General Manager, Logistics Information Systems, you will be responsible for our internal system infrastructure and ensuring business system solution with align with the information requirements of the global organization. We are seeking candidates with a successful track record executing IT strategy, a natural curiosity to find the best solutions, change management skill to create positive organizational pull and business acumen to navigate in a complicated enterprise IT environment. Candidates must be a natural problem solver, motivated by business opportunities and able to manage and influence.

 

This position will have the primary technical responsibility for project prioritization and resourcing, with a mission to understand and anticipate technology requirements, and to guide a team that proactively meets these needs. The team that reports to this role is comprised of approximately 700 employees based across the globe in India, United Kingdom, and the United States.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage, coach and develop high performance teams, creating a culture where individuals flourish and contribute to their full potential

  • Define IT roadmap and initiatives in collaboration with business leaders to prioritize the strategic investments that will advance business mission

  • Evaluate, recommend, acquire and administer critical business applications

  • Build relationships with vendors and with procurement negotiate advantageous contracts

  • Drive execution of IT projects: prioritize, allocate resources, develop and implement project plans

  • Manage, train, build and develop the IT organization. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

  • Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery and backup procedures to enable business continuity

  • Collaborate with other IT organizations across the enterprise to leverage buying power where appropriate and secure all systems

  • Additional job tasks as assigned

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible IT experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a leader of leaders managing a large, diverse team

  • Experience guiding global teams

  • University degree

 

 

 

 

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

 

 

  •  

    Demonstrated ability to guide a major transformation. Must be able to effectively understand the needs of internal teams, propose solutions, and resolve conflicting priorities

     

  •  

    Security-conscious: Subject matter expertise on security topics and data privacy; vigilant in their application to technologies and processes

     

  •  

    Strong knowledge of network and infrastructure systems e.g. SAP / SPM. Network design and configuration experience.

     

  •  

    Good working knowledge of SAAS business applications such as ERP, CRM, and email.

     

  •  

    Specific experience with Google Apps, Netsuite and Salesforce are a plus.

     

  •  

    Up to speed on current state of the art technology in terms of applications and infrastructure and keeping an eye on where things are going next

     

  •  

    Travel – 10%

     

  •  

    The Location for this person will be Morton, IL or Chicago, IL
