West Monroe has an opportunity for a Manager to join our growing IT Strategy and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team!
BPO Managers have experience providing functional strategy and process optimization solutions in support of large-scale functional and process transformation and outsourcing initiatives. Managers in this practice lead teams of 2-5 resources and also continue to demonstrate their capabilities as individual contributors. They develop and execute functional transformation and optimization strategies including sourcing events, process discovery and analysis, requirements gathering facilitation, service delivery model implementation, and contract negotiation and execution. Managers should have experience identifying and implementing outsourcing, insourcing, location strategy evaluation, process optimization and automation initiatives. Managers are expected to be able to envision, structure, and document compelling and creative solutions and recommendations, as well as develop and cultivate relationships with senior level client stakeholders. In addition, Managers help develop and enhance the practice’s methodologies and toolsets, and integrate these with other consulting solutions (e.g., technology and industry focused practices within West Monroe).
Managers should have experience in the following types of activities:
- Leading teams of 2-5 consultants, including across multiple workstreams and projects
- Demonstrating proficient skills and experience in analyzing processes/workflows, defining process improvements, and identifying productivity improvements
- Structuring quantitative analyses and conducting quality assurance on quantitative analyses performed by other team members
- Applying strong attention to detail to all work, both quantitative and written
- Leading complex programs and project teams on functional strategy, process optimization, or sourcing initiatives including defining workplans, determining how to leverage project methodologies and tools, and structuring the work of team members
- Selecting and managing service and/or technology providers
- Articulating and communicating project issues and proposing resolutions
- Identifying and documenting project risks and developing effective migration and contingency plans
- Defining project scopes, work plans, resource plans, pricing estimates, and presentations to be able to assist in selling work to clients
- Developing financial models, defining data requirements, identifying assumptions, and modeling cost-benefit analysis
- Developing storyboards to communicate insights, the results of analysis, and recommendations
- Communicating complex concepts in PowerPoint format
- Working in a collaborative team environment on complex transformation initiatives
- Establishing and cultivating senior-level client relationships, and facilitating discussions with client counterparts
- Identifying opportunities and actively contributing to pursuits, both opportunities for follow-on consulting projects and new opportunities outside current client engagements
- Managing project teams to ensure high-quality client service delivery and resulting deliverables
- Working with business process outsourcing service providers
- Establishing and/or overseeing systems integrator responsibilities for solutions such as CRM, telephony and business process automation solutions.
- Negotiating contracts with service providers across business process services
Primary responsibilities:
Client Delivery:
- Structuring and developing client deliverables
- Developing Request for Proposal and Request for Quote documentation with associated pricing models and response evaluation models
- Developing business and value cases to support functional optimization and transformation recommendations
- Collecting, organizing, cleansing, and manipulating large data sets; deriving and presenting insights resulting from the analysis of those data sets
- Assisting team members in their quantitative analysis and performing quality assurance
- Managing consulting resources to meet project timing expectations, within budget and scope, and to client’s satisfaction
- Facilitating client interviews and meetings to understand client operations and processes, collect information, and determine adjustments to be made the project approach and activities based on findings
- Leading teams of consultants, providing the structure and guidance for deliverables, and performing quality assurance of deliverables developed by the team
- Communicating and reporting project status to client executives including budget, risks, issues, etc.
- Managing project economics by tracking project budgets (expected vs. actual), creating and submitting invoices to clients, and managing collections/receivables
- Identifying, documenting, and quantifying improvement opportunities
- Counseling, mentoring, and developing staff on the job and through formal and informal feedback and guidance
Practice Development:
- Participating in and supporting the development and enhancement of the BPO methodologies, tools and other collateral (e.g., methodologies, benchmarks, case studies)
- Participating in internal efforts related to strengthening and growing the BPO practice thought culture building and knowledge sharing
- Participating in thought leadership activities by drafting articles, case studies, white papers and other related efforts
- Collaborating with local office leadership to define how to align the practice with office strategy and other practices
- Participating actively in the performance expectation process by acting as a Career Advisor and Coach to other consultants and providing performance feedback to advisees and project team members
- Participating in recruiting and retaining top quality consultants
Business Development:
- Identifying opportunities and actively contributing to pursuits, both opportunities for follow-on consulting projects and new opportunities outside current client engagements
- Helping to define business needs and requirements and then translating them into concrete project plans and detailed client proposals
- Determining scope, tasks, timelines, resources and identifying issues and risks to build into statements of work and capability presentations
- Creating work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for opportunities
- Building a professional network and affiliate network in the local community
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in providing technology and/or business process advisory consultation, at least 3-4 years of which would ideally be with a professional services firm
- Experience managing projects on an end-to-end basis with minimal supervision
- Experience in strategic sourcing and / or outsourcing advisory
- Successful track record of business development for a professional services organization, including a solid professional network
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience negotiating complex technology, business process or outsourcing contracts
- Excellent writing, communication, financial modeling and presentation delivery skills
