What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for leading the operational day-to-day business processes, technical platforms, and vendor relationships to optimize and oversee Consumer Lending’s Loan Servicing activities. The incumbent is responsible for leading the team and attaining objectives by working with members to secure titles, update payment methods, ensure accurate loan information and ultimately successful repayment. In addition, the manager will lead quarterly efforts to comprehensively document and update all procedures and policies for department manuals. The manager will work with Loss Prevention to facilitate proper filing/return/management of all required paperwork (i.e. SCRA, Assistance Programs, GAP/MCP/MRC/CPI/Deceased accounts claims, etc.) and partner with Consumer Lending leaders and other key stakeholders on strategic digital transformation initiatives to ensure scalability. Responsibilities include improving the member experience and creating self-service solutions for our members, thus increasing efficiencies across the business. The incumbent will ensure proper oversight of timely and accurate credit reporting, dispute response and member credit reporting questions, as well as interfacing with credit reporting agencies. Resources to do the job include highly effective skills in planning, training, motivating, evaluating, analyzing, preparing monthly performance reports, and directing a team while ensuring compliance with all applicable collections laws, and credit union processes/policy and regulations.
Responsibilities

- Provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction to the following consumer loan servicing functions:
- Post-closing- loan documents, titles, recorded liens and title perfection
- Monitoring Auto insurance (CPI)
- Ancillary products (GAP, MBP and Debt Protection)
- Payoffs, releases
- Financial reporting
- Member Service
- Insurance Drafts
- Rate/payment adjustments
- Credit reporting process and corrections
- Maintain the highest quality of service by monitoring employee-member interactions and identifying and leading the implementation of service enhancements
- Apply policies, procedures, and guidelines appropriately and set the example for communication skills, work ethic, and judgment
- Analyze business needs using a variety of tools such as data analysis, process analysis, process flows and other reference materials to ascertain issues and recommend a fully integrated solution
- Establish strong working relationships with other business units and stakeholders to fully leverage resources and technological solutions to streamline processes and improve work quality and collaboration
- Support the development and maintenance of departmental operating procedures, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity
- Responsible for full life cycle Project Management including project definition and management; definition of work assignments and coordination with internal partners; substantiation of cost through effective cost-benefit analysis
- Measure and monitor goal progress on a daily basis with timely updates to appropriate management levels
- Coordinate project teams, lead meetings and monitor project plans to ensure timely project implementations
- Support the operational implementation of new products and enhancements to existing products/channels
- Develop and produce reports that create insight for action resulting in minimizing Credit Union risk and maintaining compliance
- Deliver superior results through quality execution and best practice adaptation

- Provide a structural and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis
- Work with your direct reports and help seek out growth opportunities for your reports; continually challenge them to maximize their engagement and productivity
- Help propagate messaging across the organization that fosters a broader knowledge of Consumer Lending, promotes collaboration and influences constructive and positive change
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or related field, required, and you have:
- 5+ years’ experience leading servicing teams, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Expert functional knowledge of:
- Title perfection process for Direct & Indirect loans
- Collateral Protection Insurance
- GAP & Ancillary products
- Payment adjustments and file maintenance on various systems by loan product
- Ability to manually track and report efforts/results
- Previous experience working in a financial institution, preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven ability to effectively develop, coach and motivate employees
- Must be able to multi-task and interact professionally with all levels of staff
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Must demonstrate a drive for results and ownership mentality, as well as have the ability to successfully solve problems and make decisions
- Highly effective organizational, collaborative and consultative skills
- Proven ability to lead teams to high performance outcomes
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to collections and privacy
- Ability to multi-task, manage complex problems and deal with heavy volume period with tight time parameters
- Must possess strong analytical, critical thinking, written and oral communication skills
- Highly effective time and project management skills
- Ability to influence without authority
- Desire to continually learn and improve approaches and methodologies
- Proficient with mainframe software systems and Microsoft Office
- Project Management certification a plus
