Your role in helping us shape the future:

In this vital role you will be recognized as a Supplier Quality Management expert within the company. Through partnering with our suppliers, you will drive performance and ensure Intelsat’s quality requirements are maintained.

Your activities will range from managing supplier quality staff, managing Approved Vendor List (ASL) including defining audit schedule, conducting supplier evaluations, performance monitoring of suppliers, supporting design, industrialization to certification. • Monitoring and managing supplier quality performance, including the following activities:
  • Participating in Supplier Approvals and maintaining the list of approved suppliers  
  • Developing and implementing Supplier Scorecards
  • Defining Supplier audit and assessment schedule and assigning Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) to schedule
  • Manage supplier corrective actions
  • Supporting source inspections and conformities at supplier sites
• Supporting Product Realization efforts, including the following activities:
  • Performing and/or auditing Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspection activities (internal and external)
  • Conducting Airworthiness Inspections
  • Conducting and auditing First Article Inspection activities 
  • Develop and manage internal and/or customer specific quality plans
• Quality Management System, support activities
  • Maintaining Supplier Quality procedures
  • Maintaining Approved Supplier List (ASL)
  • Participation in the Internal Audit program
  • Participation in internal corrective actions
  • Implementing and managing Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing projects 
• Managing and Developing Supplier Quality Engineering staff
  • Managing daily activities of SQEs
  • Measuring performance of SQEs and providing feedback for improvement
  • Developing training and continuous education program for SQEs
  • Assigning Continuous Improvement project for SQEs
• Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.

Can you drive these processes?

Develop, implement, and maintain Supplier Quality Assurance / Supplier Quality Engineering methodologies, systems and practices which meet Intelsat Quality and regulatory requirements.

You should definitely have:

• BS Degree in electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, or industrial engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in quality, process, and/or supplier engineering
• 10+ years experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods.
• Background in a medium to high volume system level, assembly, and/or SMT manufacturing environment including electrical, mechanical, and/or PCA components.
• Working knowledge on FAA Regulations including 14 CFR 21 and 14 CFR 145
• Technical knowledge in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• PC Skills in database and data analysis systems.
• Domestic and international travel is a substantial part of this position (up to 25%).  The ability to obtain a passport is required for this position

It would be nice if you had:

• Masters degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering desired
• 6 Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
• ASQ CQE preferred
• ISO auditor certification desired

Other Job Information:

You will need critical judgment to plan and accomplish complex goals. Provide Supplier Quality Engineering consulting support in the design, assurance, quality tools, and Quality Systems to ensure that the products and Systems conform to established specifications and consistently meet or exceed the requirements of our customers and the FAA.
