The Role 

The Merchandising Operations Manager is a new position responsible for defining nation-wide processes and managing daily operations related to digital merchandising, product data management, and vendor logistics management. This is an incredible opportunity to impact the digital and in-person consumer experiences of one the world’s fastest growing, vertically integrated, multi-state cannabis operators. This key role within GTI’s merchandising team will work with the Head of Merchandising and Buying, E-Commerce, the Retail/CPG Brand Marketing teams, IT, and Retail Operations to develop an approach to bring our products to life in a way which creates a market-leading customer experience while driving conversion and sales.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop site merchandising practices and processes that scale, considering the people and tools essential to delivering an exceptional ecommerce experience across our sites
  • Develop SOPs in partnership with Buyers, Retail Operations, and e-Commerce for the following:
    • Creating and managing the accuracy of digital product content and product masters
    • Setting-up discounts online and at POS
    • Ensuring the accuracy of digital content
    • Resolving issues with vendors related to sharing product information
  • Identify the need for and build other SOPs related to managing the smooth flow of merchandise to GTI
  • Lead the development of KPIs and dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of the above-mentioned processes
  • Build, manage, and coach a team responsible for the daily execution of processes to-be established
  • Partner with technical and product teams to develop and deploy ecommerce features, functionality & tools that improve site merchandising and drive sales
  • Build and manage processes to ensure the seamless execution of marketing and promotions on our e-commerce sites within each market and ensure key stories are integrated into the ecommerce experience
  • Implement test and learn approach for site merchandising strategies to improve the site experience and performance

Qualifications  

  • A high integrity leader who understands that working in the Cannabis industry comes with greater scrutiny and therefore requires a higher level of compliance with the national, state, and local rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
  • Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years experience, with preferably 3+ years in e-commerce and/or digital operations
  • Experience building and coaching a team
  • Experience in operations management
  • Strong knowledge of US retail & ecommerce industry & cutting-edge market trends
  • Should be well versed in terms of driving visual merchandising role. Should have good decision-making abilities in terms of managing product listing/positioning on both web and app platforms.
  • Should have hands-on experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or comparable)
  • Familiarity with enterprise level ecommerce platforms (Demandware, Magento, etc)
  • Experience developing A/B testing methodologies in Ecommerce scenarios
  • Should have strong creative bent of mind, with ability to generate ideas to drive category awareness and visibility
  • Eye for good product design & user experience
  • Work effectively and cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong customer-centric approach
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness 
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment 
  • Possesses a high level of critical thinking 
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information 
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb 
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
