Resource and Practice Operations Manager (RPO)

West Monroe is seeking an exceptionally capable Resource and Practice Operations (RPO) Manager to work as an internal consulting practice coordinator within our national Product & Experience Lab (PXL) practice. In addition to providing strategy execution oversight, operational support, and resource management guidance to the practice, you will also work with members of our Shared Services function to drive best practices in business operations.
This role will be instrumental in helping build and scale PXL into a national leader in digital strategy, product and experience work – from invention to scale. This role will focus on supporting our leaders to continually defining the strategic direction for the practice along with the operational enablement, and helping build a culture obsessed with inventing, designing, and bringing to life incredible digital strategies, products and experiences for our clients. As a newly formed practice of ~75 people across West Monroe offices, PXL has a lot of momentum. The impact of digital in our lives, on society, and in business has never been so clear. The need for businesses to create lovable products and experiences has never been so great.
What will you be doing?
- Work as part of the Product & Experience Lab practice to prioritize market-facing/chargeable time and professional development of all members of the practice by playing a key role in coordinating practice and business needs
- Coordinate and ensure alignment of practice-level strategy with office- and company-level strategies
- Prepare strategic and operational reporting, analyzing financial and operational performance and providing insights to leadership, to drive and influence decisions and recommendations at the practice level
- Help drive team and individual accountability of the “brilliant basics” within the practice by monitoring and reporting on key metrics such as invoicing, accounts receivable, forecast accuracy, overallocation/under allocation, flexible time off (FTO), time entry, etc.
- Manage staffing decisions and recommendations for the practice, emphasizing both skill fit needed for client projects as well as the career development of all members of the practice
- Partner with career advisors, engagement managers, and project resources to understand skills, areas of development, and general needs for the practice
- Assist with candidate recruiting, including identification of skill gaps and job description development to attract the right talent for the practice and desired leverage model
- Coordinate practice-wide events, meetings, reviews, communications, etc.
- Partner closely with Shared Services, liaising as a central point of contact for the practice
Qualifications:
- Executive-level presence and ability to present to senior-level executives
- Experience (7+ years) in business, operations, professional services, or similar environment
- A commitment to inclusion and diversity and openness to new ideas and perspectives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely in order to facilitate decision-making and negotiation, when needed
- Strong client orientation and commitment to continuous improvement; ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
- People management experience with the ability to work with and mentor varying work styles
- A self-starter with high degree of autonomy, independence and executive presence; self-direct management of multiple projects
- Prior experience with project management and resource planning tools desired
- Experience working with a sense of immediacy as well as the ability to manage competing demands and a diverse set of personalities while maintaining adaptability and flexibility
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
