Risk Management at IMC
 

IMC is currently looking for a Risk Analyst to be a part of the US Risk Management Team. The risk management team operates closely with our trading and technology teams in order to manage the inherent risks in IMC’s trading strategies related to market, credit, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risks. We are looking for someone who has a strong desire to work in the risk management space and who will bring a critical and proactive approach. It will be your challenge to support the risk assessment and management responsibilities for US Risk initiatives. In addition, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of various risk management monitoring tools and reports. To excel in this role, you will use your experience, analytical skills, and technical ability to add value, not bureaucracy to the business. 
 

Risk Analyst
 

As a Risk Analyst at IMC, you’ll assist with the day-to-day risk management function while exploring and implementing enhancements to our risk framework. You’ll also:

• Assist in monitoring the market risk of IMC’s trading strategies across various exchange-traded products including single-name equity options, index options, FICC options, ETF’s, and single stocks

• Assist in the building, revision, and enhancement of risk methodologies and operations for IMC’s trading strategies

• Review and assess documented operational incidents for root cause identification, potential financial impact, and proposed solutions

• Assess the risk management team’s current operational risk framework related to incident management and the reporting of key risk indicators

• Assess and challenge potential solutions to complex business processes associated with operational and technology risk

• Contribute to risk management’s risk control self-assessment by analyzing the potential impact and likelihood of risk events

• Develop and enhance real-time risk monitoring and reporting tools for IMC’s key risks

• Partner with software development, data engineering, and trading support team members to propose and implement solutions within trading and support team reports
   

You Have:

• A strong desire to work within risk management and a keen interest in the financial markets

• Solid technical skills with knowledge of data processing and analysis technologies (SQL, Hadoop, Python, Business Intelligence packages or similar)

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management skills

• The ability to communicate complex information and ideas to key business stakeholders

• A proactive attitude and an out of the box-thinker who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• An academic background in quantitative fields such as statistics, finance, or computer science

• 1-5 years of relevant work experience is preferred but not necessary
