Description
The Senior Manager of Branding is a proven leader with a broad range of knowledge, experience, and expertise in brand development and integrated marketing communications.
This senior-level position is one of the key strategic leaders for Hyatt's Independent Collection brands - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Destination by Hyatt and JdV by Hyatt. The primary role of the Senior Manager of Branding is to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and owners, operators and property leaders, to build, refine and evolve hotel-level brands and manage the brand alignment process for the collection brands.
Responsibilities include general oversight of hotel-level branding, master-brand positioning and alignment, brand-building initiatives and overall brand impact. More specifically (not exhaustively), the Senior Manager of Branding will:

  • Provide strategic guidance to brand development, repositioning and/or refinement of property storytelling initiatives.
  • Proactively determine modifications to property positioning strategies based on relevant market trends and evolving guest needs.
  • Ensure every property in the collection appropriately ladders up to the Independent Collection positioning and is adhering to co-branding protocols.
  • Partner with creative agencies to provide brand development solutions for properties.
  • Lead the preparation of brand-related business development pitches.
  • Participate in all new development pitches and provide an active leadership role in presentations.
  • Work alongside Design Services in the branding/design/pre-opening process or when hotels are going through a renovation.
  • Creation of branding integration toolkits and resources for pre-opening process.
  • Development and oversight of master-brand signature experiences.
  • Create and oversee signature brand experiences.
  • Measure brand impact.


In addition to branding, the Senior Manager of Branding will also have a focus on amplifying and maintaining global brand relevance and differentiation, while helping to guide and collaborate with brilliant teams around the world-from Design and Operations to Communications, Consumer Insights and Loyalty-to develop and market our brands in a way that is relevant to today's culturally connected guests and offers unique, meaningful experiences in this highly competitive and growing segment.
Ideally the position is based in Chicago, IL at Hyatt's Global Headquarters, however we are open to a remote position given the right talent and cultural fit.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Steward of the brand that articulates and supports brand promise, vision, position, and architecture to achieve overall business goals.
  • Follows an insight-driven approach to innovation, building unique, meaningful brand experiences through all consumer touchpoints. Works collaboratively with design, operations, and hotel teams to identify and develop new initiatives/offerings.
  • Engages, inspires, and galvanizes the organization around the brand vision, position, and strategies to provide clarity in bringing them to life in each functional area.
  • Collaborates with in-house creative team and external agencies to build brand guidelines and design standards that support the brand identity and brand promise, and effectively apply standards to brand templates and tools.
  • Develops and delivers brand immersions and works collaboratively with internal and external teams to ensure consistency in communications within brand guidelines.
  • Maintains branding process and approval during the brand audit and alignment process.
  • Partnering with Strategic Insights, monitors and reports on brand health and performance vs. competitive set.
  • Reviews and recommends guest specific in-hotel communications and provides feedback on consistency with the marketing and brand plans.


Experience
10+ years experience in branding, hospitality experience preferred
Education

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Graduate degree a plus


Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
