Supervisor, Demand Planning
Your role in helping us shape the future:
Intelsat Inflight has the best solutions for commercial airlines in the IFC industry. These dynamic solutions have taken internet in the air from base connectivity to broadband streaming in under 10 years; truly changing the way people fly.
It takes very complex hardware to make the magic happen, and as our product installs on more and more aircraft and technologies moving forward we need to make sure we have the right people in the right roles to plan for materials purchases, shipments, and obsolescence.
To ensure we have the right parts in the right place at the right time, we need a dynamic thinker that can evaluate problems with multiple variables. Critical thinking, modeling, and working cross functionally with our Product, PMO, and Industrialization teams. When new products launch, this is the role that will model the supply plan. When parts get old, this role is key to making sure that we keep working parts on active aircraft, otherwise, there is no revenue!
Are you up to the challenge?
- Create part specific supply chain plans for new part introduction, obsolescence, or reliability improvement
- Create detailed multi-year forecasts for inventory purchases and repair plans to ensure part availability while minimizing cash spend
- Create vendor specific forecasts for the procurement team to support vendor negotiations for price, capacity, and other key contract terms
- Lead the MRP process to give clear signals to purchasing and procurement teams
- Manage the continuous improvement of our MRP tool so that it can handle the complexities related to FAA regulations around part numbering, software and hardware revision
- Lead the review of older technology to determine appropriate supply levels and work closely with Accounting to determine and Excess and Obsolescence impacts
- Provide clear signals to our Customer Operations and Master Production Scheduling teams so the right parts are used for the right purpose
- Create inventory plans for Intelsat warehouses and airline locations to manage spend and availability
Can you drive these processes?
- Running the MRP tool on a standard cadence, analyzing the output to identify exceptions
- Prepare monthly material forecast updates for procurement and finance to keep cross-functional teams informed
- Prioritize which materials are used and repaired to comply with established budget levels
- Prepare deep analysis of part availability forecasts to identify opportunities for cost savings
- Manage complex set of rules around which parts can go on specific aircraft working with our Engineering teams
- Create monthly metrics package for your work responsibilities, identifying necessary actions to resolve issues
You should definitely have:
- Great excel modelling skills
- 3-5 years of experience in a demand planning or materials planning supply chain role
- Experience with ERP systems
- Four-year college degree in Supply Chain, Finance
- Experience presenting complex problems or recommendations to senior audiences
- High level of initiative and accountability
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience with MRP tools
- Experience with Navision or Dynamics 365 Business Central
