Job Description

Technicians at Nordstrom support customers across multiple channels, with a focus on providing excellent customer experience to Nordstrom Employees. Technicians at Nordstrom have a wide range of responsibilities ranging from in store support, Service Desk support and backend monitoring of systems and applications, just to name a few.

 

This position will be a technical expert in one or more highly specialized phases of applications systems analysis, computer systems support, and IT operations support. The successful candidate acts independently under general direction. The candidate will provide IT support for Customer Care, NRHL, and 3rd party vendors and may act as a business expert and assist users in defining needs. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Has technical knowledge and proficiency in various phases of troubleshooting, as well as general IT operations functions.

 

This position will work a scheduled shift that is 4pm CST - 12am CST. This role will be fully remote.

 

A day in the life…

  • Protects our Brand and competitive advantage by ensuring that customer /other protected data and intellectual property is protected, never exposed to external breach or unauthorized access, and all appropriate security controls / practices are implemented
  • Mentors Technician 1s and peers on security best practices, including Nordstrom specific security standards and policies
  • Utilizes daily work management systems data to prioritize backlog of work, and communicates identified issues/changes to leadership
  • Identifies why a problem is occurring, analyze the appropriate data and create an effective plan for resolution using technical solutions
  • Demonstrates understanding and consistently delivers within the target SLA's for the specific area
  • Demonstrates understanding of Project Management best practices.  Adheres to scheduled work times
  • Ability to function well in a fast-changing work environment and the ability to work on multiple time-critical issues concurrently
  • Experience with VM Ware/ remote access support (VPN/RSA)
  • Work with Engineers to test, deploy, and support upgrades and new releases
  • Strong Customer service skill are a must
  • New Hire on-boarding, System access, System permissions
  • Daily monitoring of all critical systems and Incident/Problem management

 

You own this if you have…

  • Two-year degree in related computer field required
  • 1-3 years’ experience in technical systems support and troubleshooting on network and telephony hardware and software required
  • 1-3 years’ experience with various Windows operating systems and desktop administration tools required
  • High motivation and self-direction, sound problem solving skills, technical troubleshooting, negotiating and decision-making skills are crucial
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship-building and collaboration
