What you will be doing – Vice President, Academics 

We are seeking a Vice President, Academics to lead our Instruction and Curriculum teams.  Will oversee the strategic vision & tactical execution of Elevate K-12 Academic Product & Outcomes.  Will ensure successful leadership, management and collaboration of teams that impact instructors, curriculum and new academic initiatives.  Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities – Vice President, Academics 

  • Instructors: Works with Director of Instruction to continue to:
    • Ensure customer satisfaction levels on instructor team
    • Work to reduce turnover and attrition with the instructor teams especially mid semester leavers
    • Put plans in place to develop a community of evangelizing instructors and influencers to bolster the Elevate K-12 brand with future instructors
    • Ensure quality instruction through current and future evaluation metrics along side robust professional development
  • Curriculum: Works with Director of Curriculum to continue to:
    • Ensure quality curriculum developed that meets school expectations and can be leveraged across all states where Elevate K-12 does business
    • Ensure curriculum is engaging and exciting for students
    • Ensure curriculum is meaningful, relevant and easy to use for instructors
  • New Products:
    • Provide insights, strategy and inputs on new academic products and courses, including cost benefit analysis, market potential and analysis plans and tactical development and rollout plans
    • Performs benchmark comparisons to other products to identify future features for the Elevate K-12 product roadmap
    • Acts as SME for Academic inputs on product development
    • Manages current and cultivates new partnerships with other academic organizations
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement in current product set as well as identifies new product opportunities
  • Academic Outcomes and Performance
    • Develops weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics demonstrating the efficacy of the Elevate K-12 programs
    • Develops program scorecards and customer facing metrics and reporting
  • Other
    • Works with Head of Sales and contributes on sales calls where academic expertise is needed
    • Escalates any non standard requests to the COO and collaborates on evaluation and approval
    • Defines and documents processes for all teams reporting into the academics department
    • Ensures efficacy of academic programming
    • Works to streamline, create and automate repeatable processes wherever possible
    • Identifies areas of opportunity and improvement and works to close those gaps efficiently and effectively
    • Collaborates with operations team members on requests and needs from schools that need to be funded and prioritized for work product and improvement pipeline
    • Collaborates with Sr VP of Operations on streamlining classroom performance, operations and procedures

Who you Are – Vice President, Academics 

  • 15+ years of experience within the proprietary education/academic products space
  • 10+years of leadership experience within the proprietary education/academic products space
  • Track record of success leading and developing an Instruction and Curriculum team
  • Experience setting and leading the strategic vision and tactical execution of academic products and outcomes
  • Strong relationship building skills – Ability to gain credibility and commitment amongst internal Stakeholders 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize commitments to achieve results in a high growth environment 
  • Motivational leader with energy, enthusiasm and ability to succeed in a high growth environment
