The VP of Retail will be primarily responsible for the growth of our retail business, a top strategic priority post Kroger merger. You will be expected to develop Home Chef’s retail strategy, lead its execution, and communicate progress to both Home Chef and Kroger executives. You should be prepared to immediately take on a key leadership role at Home Chef, hit challenging growth objectives, and solve the most complex problems that the meal solutions industry has to offer.

Develop Retail Business Strategy

Work with Kroger and Home Chef leadership to develop a multi-year retail roadmap that encompasses all aspects of the retail business
Ensure that Home Chef and Kroger leadership are commitmented to a single, unified retail strategy
Refine, update and communicate changes to roadmap as we gain experience in the retail channel

Lead Company-wide Retail Execution

Lead the retail working team, which will include dedicated resources across operations, product, and marketing
Coordinate across all Home Chef teams to ensure our retail strategy is executed effectively
Foster communication and collaboration across functional teams to help Home Chef reach optimal decisions for the retail business as a whole

Executive-level communication & hitting key retail objectives

Deliver regular readouts with Home Chef and Kroger leadership teams to communicate progress, collect feedback and frame up critical decisions for the retail business
Monitor progress towards key retail objectives and make necessary adjustments to strategy and execution plans to hit these objectives

10+ years in fast-paced, results-oriented, high-visibility environments
Experience developing and executing strategy in consumer-facing industries such as retail or consumer packaged goods
A difference maker with a track record of delivering on targets or key objectives
Ability to lead several teams composed of high-performing resources to execute complex projects
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with key decision makers across Home Chef and Kroger
Data-driven mindset and strong analytical skills
Must be based in Chicago IL
Some travel (~25%) may be required
Completion of a four-year degree program in a related field - MBA a plus, but not required

As a leader, Stone knows that one of his responsibilities is to mold the culture of his team. Iyer is a senior manager of new product development, but she also plays an active role in Home Chef’s cross-functional group, HC Connect. The group organizes social events that promote a sense of belonging across the company and also collaborates with the many affinity groups at Home Chef. Recently, Iyer attended a Mardi Gras trivia night where she learned about Creole culture and Spanish law.

I try to attend as many events as possible. I want to support my peers, but I also walk away with more than I expected, whether it’s a piece of trivia or understanding someone’s perspective in a new light.
