Description

Function: The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing employees’ paychecks by collecting their payroll data and timesheets. Their duties include verifying employees’ work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings, and other statements to employees, and regularly updating payroll records.

  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
  • Calculates and processes all wage garnishments. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Multistate payroll experience required.
  • Above average ability to navigate computers in addition to learn database software quickly and use it effectively.
  • Knowledge of Paylocity preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to support the mission of Lydia Home Association.
