Summary:

Anaconda is seeking a talented People professional who is a systems-thinker to join our rapidly growing company. This role combines employee lifecycle administration, People systems, AI, automation, and continuous improvement into a single position. It isn't a traditional HR Generalist role, and it isn't a traditional People Systems role. It's intentionally designed to combine the strengths of both.

You'll own critical employee lifecycle work while continuously improving how that work gets done through technology, thoughtful process design, automation, and AI.

Success in this role isn't measured only by the work you complete, it's measured by how much better you leave our People function than you found it. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Why This Role Exists:

The People function is changing.

Historically, organizations separated employee support, People systems, process improvement, and technology into different roles. Modern People teams can't afford to work that way.

Great People teams shouldn't simply become larger as companies grow; they should become smarter. This role brings employee lifecycle administration, People systems, AI, automation, and continuous improvement together because the people closest to the work are best positioned to improve it.

The goal isn't to automate people. The goal is to increase the operational leverage of the People team by automating repetitive work, simplifying complexity, and creating better employee experiences.

We're looking for someone excited to help build how the People team works tomorrow, not simply maintain how it works today.

What You'll Do:

Employee Lifecycle Administration:

  • Own the operational administration of onboarding while partnering with teammates responsible for onboarding strategy, content, and learning
  • Support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle by providing responsive, thoughtful service
  • Execute hires, promotions, organizational changes, compensation updates, leaves, and offboarding with exceptional accuracy
  • Maintain employee records, documentation, compliance administration, and data integrity
  • Operationalize recurring People programs including performance reviews, compensation reviews, promotions, engagement surveys, and other cyclical initiatives

Systems, AI, & Continuous Improvement:

  • Administer Rippling and other People technologies, configuring workflows, automations, approvals, forms, reporting, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Continuously improve workflows by reducing manual work, simplifying processes, and creating scalable employee and manager experiences
  • Build documentation, self-service resources, automations, and knowledge tools that increase the effectiveness of the People team
  • Regularly leverage AI to improve documentation, communications, reporting, research, knowledge management, and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify practical opportunities to improve how the People team operates
Partnership:
  • Partner closely with People Business Partners, People Programs, Total Rewards, and business leaders to operationalize People initiatives
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization while contributing ideas and best practices that continuously improve the employee experience
Your Impact Will Be Measured Through:
  • Employee and manager satisfaction with People support
  • Increased operational leverage across the People team through workflow improvements, automation, and AI
  • Reduced manual work and increased self-service
  • Accuracy and reliability of employee data and People systems
  • Continuous improvement in how the People team delivers services at scale
  • Accuracy and reliability of employee data and People systems
What You Need:
  • 5+ years of experience in HR, People Systems, HR technology, People Operations, or a closely related role with meaningful ownership of employee lifecycle administration
  • Experience administering an HRMS such as Rippling, Workday, UKG, or a comparable platform
  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle administration and experience configuring workflows, automations, forms, approvals, reporting, or other HR technology solutions
  • Demonstrated success improving operational processes, not simply executing them
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) as a regular part of your workflow, with the judgment to validate outputs and understand where AI should and shouldn't be used
  • A demonstrated ability to think in systems, simplify complexity, and improve how work gets done
  • Strong communication, organization, customer service, and stakeholder management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • You embody our values: Curious by Default, Build Together, Own It, and Lead with Guts and Heart, and our behaviors: Clarity, Care and Candor
  • You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish
What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Experience administering Rippling
  • Experience designing workflow automations, integrations, or scalable operational improvements within an HRMS
  • Demonstrated success using AI to improve operational efficiency, documentation, reporting, or employee experiences
  • Experience working in a high-growth environment while balancing operational execution with continuous improvement
  • A track record of increasing the effectiveness of a People team through technology, systems thinking, and operational excellence
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience working in an open-source, AI, or data science-oriented company
Why You'll Like Working Here:
  • You'll help shape a modern operating model for the People function by combining People expertise, technology, AI, and continuous improvement
  • Your work will directly improve the employee experience while increasing the effectiveness and scalability of the People team
  • You'll thrive in a high-performance environment where results are recognized and rewarded
  • Your work directly contributes to shaping the future of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise
  • You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values diverse, thoughtful discussion, clarity and candor
  • You'll be supported by a culture that puts employees first - with flexible hours, a fully remote setup, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing and growth
