The Principal Sales Engineer (PSE) at LogicMonitor serves as a senior technical strategist and trusted field advisor, responsible for elevating customer outcomes and advancing the technical maturity of the SE organization.

The Principal SE acts as both a subject matter authority and a cultural steward, setting the tone for collaboration, innovation, and mentorship across regions.

Each Principal SE is part of an elite, “Knights of the Round Table” council — a small group of distinguished engineers who bring unique expertise, creativity, and leadership to the team. These Principals are not just the best individual contributors; they are force multipliers who model selflessness, consistency, and accountability.

In this next evolution of the role, the Principal SE leads by example in applying AI, GPT, and automation to drive innovation, efficiency, and customer value — sharing knowledge freely, amplifying others’ strengths, and ensuring that every success scales.

Here's a closer look at this key role:

  • Act as a senior field strategist and technical advisor to Sales, Product, and Executive leadership.

  • Own and execute complex, high-visibility technical sales motions — ensuring solution design, demos, and POCs exceed customer expectations.

  • Serve as a bridge between Product and Sales, translating customer insights into actionable feedback and roadmap priorities.

  • Mentor and coach SEs across regions, fostering technical growth, career development, and a culture of collaboration.

  • Lead by example as a “Knight of the Round Table” — demonstrating mastery in one or more domains (e.g., automation, AI observability, hybrid cloud, security, integrations) while contributing to the collective strength of the SE organization.

  • Champion AI and GPT usage across customer engagements — from discovery and proposal development to POC automation and proactive analysis.

  • Develop reusable GPT prompt libraries, demo assets, and workflows that enhance efficiency and deal velocity.

  • Balance customer advocacy with operational realism — ensuring commitments are achievable and sustainable for PS and Support.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with SE Leadership and Enablement to scale successful technical practices globally.

  • Publish technical blogs, enablement content, or AI-enhanced demo playbooks that elevate LM’s market reputation.

  • Exemplify selfless leadership by giving credit, sharing knowledge, and investing time in growing others, not just winning deals.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 10+ years in IT, technical presales, or SE leadership.

  • Expert-level proficiency in infrastructure, observability, automation, and cloud architectures.

  • Strong understanding of LogicMonitor’s platform, APIs, SDKs, and integration capabilities.

  • Proven ability to execute high-impact technical sales strategies in complex enterprise environments.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences.

  • Experience with scripting and automation (Groovy, Python, PowerShell, etc.) and AI/GPT-based tools for productivity or customer enablement.

  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize AI/automation at scale — driving measurable business outcomes.

  • Consistent record of mentoring peers and driving team-wide technical uplift.

  • Ability to balance confidence with humility — knowing when to lead and when to empower others.

  • Passion for sharing knowledge, building community, and representing LM’s technical excellence internally and externally.
