Within Microsoft Fabric, the Real-Time Intelligence team enables organizations to act on data as it happens. By combining real-time ingestion, streaming, event processing, and observability signals, the team delivers capabilities that help customers detect patterns, respond to events, and drive immediate action. These experiences are tightly integrated into Fabric to support modern applications and operational decision-making in real time.

The local store team, part of Azure Messaging develops critical microservices that power services like Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus and Event Grid. The team develops systems software that interacts closely with the OS and with Service Fabric. 
In this role, you would be driving innovation and efficiency in microservices that store the user's data for the Messaging services and replicate is as appropriate. 
 
The day-to-day work involves not only designing, implementing and maintaining features for these critical microservices, but also driving AI adoption and finding new and innovative ways of using AI to make software development even more robust and efficient.

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include: 
 
- Follows rigorous processes of developing software to deliver features, while ensuring the highest quality and stability for the delivered software 
- Drives innovation both at product level and software development process level 
- Is very comfortable to leverage AI in any task 
- Adds significant value on top of AI development with their prior technical knowledge and experience 
- Drives adoption of efficient techniques in using AI to develop software

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.​ 

Job Requirements: Other & Additional  

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: 

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred/Additional Qualifications 

​- Systems development experience (working with file system/networking stack, optimizing IOs, etc.) 
- A deep desire to leverage AI​
 



Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
