Principal/Sr. Principal Product Supportability & Reliability Engineer
Our Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, for support projects associated with the design and development of avionic mission systems.
The job responsibilities will be as an individual-contributor and deliverable/product lead within a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Successful candidate will support development and verification/validation of the Product Support elements. Other responsibilities may include traditional Systems Engineering functions, including requirements synthesis and flow-down, system trades study support, systems analysis, coordination of design efforts, and management of technical budgets & interface definitions.
This position will be full-time, on-site at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform various Product Support analysis such as:
- Level of Repair Analysis
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis
- Create and Maintain Logistics Product Data and Provisioning Data
- Packaging, Handling, and Shipping definition
- Manpower Planning
- Sparing Analysis
- Facilities and Support Equipment
- Based on skill-set, support additional Specialty Engineering functions such as:
- Reliability and Maintainability analysis (reliability and maintainability predictions, Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA))
- System Safety
- Human Factors
- Testability (Built-In-Test Design)
- Present supportability approach at engineering design reviews.
This position can be filled as a Principal Reliability Engineer or Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer
Basic Qualifications for Principal Reliability Engineer:
- Must either have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, OR 1 year of experience with a PhD in a STEM discipline.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in one of the Product Support or Specialty Engineering (Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, System Safety, or Human Factors) disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience with problem resolution on complex technical challenges.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Clearance is not required to start.

- Must either have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 8 years of relevant experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, OR 4 year of experience with a PhD in a STEM discipline.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in one of the System Supportability or Specialty Engineering (Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, System Safety, or Human Factors) disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience with problem resolution on complex technical challenges.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Clearance is not required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in multiple of the Product Support and Specialty Engineering disciplines
- Experience in the military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g. aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)
- Knowledge of Military Specifications, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and other related technical and contractual documents
