Own the end-to-end product experience for DeepScribe’s AI-powered clinical workflow platform. Research oncology provider workflows, define design direction across native iOS and web products, evolve the design system, and create AI-first interactions involving ambient intelligence, voice, chat, and automation. Collaborate with clinicians, product, engineering, AI, and clinical teams to prototype, ship, iterate, and represent the company externally.

About DeepScribe

DeepScribe is building AI agents that automate and transform clinical workflows. Capturing over 3 million oncology care visits annually, we are the dominant AI scribe for cancer care—and we’re rapidly expanding into other clinical workflows for oncologists.

We’re building the ambient operating system for healthcare: intelligent agents that embed directly into clinical and administrative workflows, from chart preparation and documentation to clinical decision support and follow-up. Our goal is to make the right thing the easy thing—automating busy work and removing friction so clinicians can practice at the top of their license and focus on the patient and the patient’s treatment.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Product Designer to deeply understand and reinvent complex oncology provider workflows. As the only designer on the team, you’ll own DeepScribe’s end-to-end product experience across multiple engineering squads, from early problem definition through shipped product.

This is a hands-on role for someone with sharp product judgment and excellent interaction and design craft. You’ll work directly with clinicians and partner closely with Product, Engineering, AI, and clinical experts.

This role is US-remote or hybrid from San Francisco and includes periodic travel to clinical sites.

What You’ll Do
  • Learn how oncology care actually works. Observe clinicians in context, identify the highest-value problems, and use their limited time judiciously.

  • Set the design direction for the product. Create a coherent, polished experience across native iOS and web, evolve our design system, and guide work across multiple squads.

  • Create AI-first clinical interactions. Design across ambient intelligence, voice, chat, and automation, deciding when AI should replace or augment a graphical interface and when explicit controls are essential.

  • Advance how DeepScribe designs with AI. Use emerging tools to explore ideas and build interactive prototypes faster while establishing new practices for the broader team.

  • Ship, learn, and iterate. Work closely with Product, Engineering, clinical experts, and customers through implementation, and represent DeepScribe credibly in external settings.

About You
  • You are problem-first. You look past feature requests to understand workflows, pain points, and what is truly worth solving—without defaulting to research or process for its own sake.

  • You simplify without flattening nuance. You make complex, high-stakes workflows intuitive while preserving the control expert users need.

  • You have strong taste. Your work demonstrates excellent interaction design, visual polish, and a consumer-quality bar for what ships.

  • You have nuanced AI product judgment. You know when AI should act, suggest, ask, or stay out of the way.

  • You understand healthcare but expect better from its software. You have designed for clinicians, care teams, or patients; experience with an EHR or similarly complex clinical system is especially valuable.

  • You thrive with autonomy. You can set direction, manage competing priorities, collaborate without designing by committee, and communicate credibly with both technical teams and clinicians.

Perks and benefits

$100,000 to $200,000 annual salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, skill level, location, and internal equity, and may vary from the posted range.

About the Team

At DeepScribe, we value trust, teamwork, and transparency, and we’re dedicated to promoting diversity and equity in the workforce through inclusive hiring practices. Candidates with backgrounds that are underrepresented in the technology industry are encouraged to apply.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required eligibility verification form upon hire.

We’re excited to connect with people who feel inspired by our mission to transform medical documentation with AI. As part of your application, we ask you to briefly tell us why you want to work at DeepScribe. Applications without a thoughtful response may not be considered.

How to use AI during our hiring process

  • When applying: create the first draft of your resume yourself, but it’s OK to use AI to help you polish it

  • While preparing: use AI to research DeepScribe, practice your answers, or prepare questions for us

  • During live interviews: no AI assistance of any kind unless we indicate otherwise. We want to see how you think, approach problems, and work through challenges in real time.
