Lead and support product development and modification through analytical methods (FEA, dynamics, fatigue). Manage analysis projects, mentor junior analysts, develop modeling techniques and automation (macros/scripts), validate simulation results, and implement best-in-class analysis practices.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
Provide project management, as well as analytical, support for various internal customers regarding:
- The development of new products.
- The modification of current products.
- The overall understanding of product function.

Essential Functions:
- Manage the analysis process and its impact on the design efforts of the division. Coordinate the work of other analysts and team members, as well as the work of outside consultants.
- Develop product designs via analytical methods to assure product durability and reliability prior to engineering release. These methods could include the use of specialized analysis software, such as ANSYS (FEA), ADAMS (Dynamics), or Fe-Safe (Fatigue), as well as 3D CAD modeling, hand calculations, free body diagrams, curve fitting, etc.
- Apply expertise in analysis software to develop new modeling techniques on a regular basis. These tasks could involve in-depth experimentation, evaluation, and validation of new software features and methods.
- Act as a coach and mentor to less experienced analysis software users. This support may be related to the use of the software, making recommendations regarding the capability of the software, or the interpretation of simulation results.
- Develop automated tools, such as macros or scripts, to automate the analysis process.
- Implement industry “best in class” analysis practices.
