Job Description

The Devices Product Manager will be responsible for

  • Analyzing the market and competitive environment and using it to drive and deliver unique value to our customers through our products
  • Plan and execute Voice of Customer/Partners/Sales to obtain feedback on market needs and what features add value to the product and portfolio
  • Develop the Business Case and Forecast for the product, including financial analysis to determine whether the project makes business sense
  • Define the product requirements and work with Engineering, Sales and other stakeholders through the product definition and development process 
  • Plan and conduct Customer Touch Points, Alphas and Betas with customers to obtain feedback and validation throughout the development process
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Training teams to develop the go to market strategy, ordering mechanism as well as marketing and training materials
  • Support Sales with launch, promotion and other activities
  • Define the product's support, repair and service strategy working with the service team 
  • Work with internal stakeholders to improve the overall customer experience
  • Look holistically at hardware, software and services to drive value proposition of the product
  • Seek out external partnerships to identify product integration opportunities

Qualifications

  • Technical Competency - Understand engineering concepts and how to best extract value from the technology at hand. Provide guidance or direction to Engineering when tradeoffs have to be made.
  • Communication - Able to concisely and clearly communicate product ideas and definitions to the team as well as management 
  • Skilled at eliciting requirements, use cases and problem statements from customers, partners and sales. Identify where the biggest problems and highest value are.
  • Leadership - provide direction to the team, resolve conflicts when necessary, step in where needed and escalated as required. Make the tough calls and decisions.
  • Finance - Understanding of basic business financial concepts, Profit/Loss statement, Margins.
  • Independent and able to hit the ground running with minor supervision but wise and not shy to raise hand when required.
  • Positive energy and willingness to learn
  • Problem Solving: Organized and logical approach to tackling business problems
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts.
  • Relationship Building: Builds strong working relationships and contributes to a positive work environment 
  • Collaborator: Strong team mentality. Able to work within different groups to define and achieve business goals
  • Results Oriented: Effectively executes on plans, strives for results and takes accountability
  • Curiosity: Desire to ask the “Why” and “What if” questions.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field. MBA or other graduate degree is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or in Product Planning/Product Marketing/Product Management
