As a Product Owner on the PL Product Property & Specialty team, you will represent the voice of the customer and the business, working closely with partners across product, technology, and downstream partners. You will define and prioritize work that drives strategic outcomes-ranging from near-term enhancements to foundational modernization.
You'll be responsible for understanding problems deeply, breaking down work for agile squads, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders. Given the wide range of needs across Property & Specialty (e.g., state-specific changes, underwriting, specialty programs, modernization initiatives), you will regularly handle shifting priorities and varied work types.

Product Vision & Strategy
- Contribute to shaping product vision and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities such as Win Now initiatives and future-state tech modernization.
- Communicate product strategy and expected outcomes to squads and stakeholders.
Backlog Management & Delivery
- Own and maintain the squad backlog, ensuring stories and features are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned to customer and business value.
- Balance near-term delivery with longer-term viability, supporting product health and readiness for future modernization.
- Participate in planning ceremonies, demos, and retrospectives to guide prioritization and ensure clarity of business intent.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as the primary connection between business stakeholders, downstream partners, and the agile team.
- Clearly communicate scope, decisions, and expected value for each increment of work.
- Coordinate across teams (e.g., Specialty, State Management, Underwriting, Tech) to ensure alignment and dependency awareness.
Execution & Continuous Improvement
- Clarify business requirements and remove blockers to enable team progress.
- Assess feasibility, tradeoffs, and cost-of-delay to inform prioritization decisions.
- Understand regulatory, compliance, and operational considerations that may impact the product or portfolio.
- Contribute to shaping roadmaps across Property & Specialty, helping connect business goals to execution paths.
Ideal Candidate
- Have experience with insurance products, PL Property & Specialty programs
- Thrive in environments with multiple workstreams, varied stakeholders, and evolving priorities.
- Bring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break ambiguous problems into actionable work.
- Demonstrate clear, concise communication, especially when aligning stakeholders or explaining product decisions.
- Have experience working in agile teams and are comfortable owning backlog prioritization.
- Are motivated by both strategic thinking and hands-on exploration of customer problems.
- Curious, adaptable, and excited about participating in modernization of core insurance systems,

- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.) and a minimum of 2 to 4 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 5 years in business, technology or consulting.
- Able to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change.
- Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
- Problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solutions and progress.
- Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
- Experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty
