Job Title: Production Control Specialist

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for Purchasing of electronic parts and Inventory control activities within the Production Control Department.                                 

  

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with electronics suppliers and develop controls for supplier activities.                       
  • Support Purchasing with distribute part design drawings received from Aisin Seiki in Japan to suppliers as part specifications.                         
  • Request quotations from electronic suppliers.                    
  • Responsible for electronic parts procurement process with national and international electronic parts suppliers.                             
  • Responsible for development and follow-up of component procurement forecast (new launch and/or mass production)                             
  • Issue purchase orders for mass production and trial run parts.                       
  • Responsible for adjusting existing purchase orders based on demand forecast.                          
  • Responsible for Inventory Control including verification of inventory amounts for mass production and trial parts.                    
  • Responsible for creating mass production/new launch production schedules                         
  • Responsible for creating ramp-up/ramp-down schedules                          
  • Responsible for issuing trial production schedule to manufacturing for new trail part runs.                           
  • Responsible for implementation of ramp-up plans for all new parts at start of mass production.                             
  • Responsible for issuing any engineering change instruction (ECI) and / or design drawing from Aisin Seiki in Japan to AEIL engineers.                            
  • Responsible for confirming trial shipment accuracy                      
  • Responsible for document control for LOI's, ECI's, 13 week forecasts, and parts quotations within the Production Control Department.                            
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards                        
  • Will perform all other reasonably related tasks within the Company as required by Management.                    
  • Establish monthly, daily, and hourly production schedule.                 

 

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Two years of prior applicable experience in Production Control                        

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Electronics experience desired.                      
  • Automotive experience desired.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing supplier relationships, including requesting quotations and following up on orders and deliveries.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, anticipate material needs, and respond to changes in production demand.
  • Ability to interpret and manage production forecasts, purchase orders, engineering changes, part specifications, and production schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal departments, suppliers, and international business partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data, documentation, inventory, and purchasing activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred

  • Valid passport for travel required for travel   
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
