Job Description

Summary
Designs and develops mechanical and fluid handling products.
Provides technical support regarding various hose applications through interface with internal and
external customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer
contract requirements, and related specifications.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
Determines feasibility of designing new products considering costs, available space, time limitations,
company planning and other technical and economic factors. Provides technical information
concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantagees
and limitations which affect long range product engineering planning.
Controls new component and assembly part number creation, excluding standard catalog assemblies.
Monitors run and set up times for standard operations.
Draws final drawings, checking dimensions of parts, material to be sued, relation of one part to
another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
Uses computer aided design equipment and software. Responsible for maintaining and updating
controlled documents such as drawings, specifications, part number index, ECN's, etc.
Directs or conducts observation and analysis of personnel and work procedures to determine
time-and-motion requirements of job duties. Analyzes work study data and equipment specifications
to establish time and productino standards. Applies mathematical analysis to determinevalidity and
reliability of sampling and work study statistics.
Applies principles of industrial engineering and applied psychology to evaluate work methods.
Proposes and develops recommendations to management that may effect work methods.
Prepares or directs preparation of products and detailed drawings. Directs and coordinates
manufacturing or building of protoype product.
Manages efforts to secure appropriate agency approvals for products as determined by product
specifications.
Compiles and analyzes operations, test, and research data to establish performance standards for
newly designed or modified equipment or product. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if
design meets functional and performance specifications. Confers with research and other engineering
personnel and prepares design modifications as required. Evaluates engineering test results for
possible application to development of other uses.
Authorized to identify non conformities, recommend solutions to and initiate action to prevent the
occurrence of non conformities of product, process, and the Quality System and to verify the
implementation of solutions. Authorized to control further processing and delivery of non conforming
product until the non conformance has been corrected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; 5+ years experience
