The Project Manager is primarily responsible for managing medium to large technical projects across multiple workstreams and coordinating within larger program timelines and objectives.  Experience creating project charters, defining and managing scope, and tracking progress or milestones will be critical for the role in both waterfall and agile methodologies. . Project Managers should also have a background coordinating with third-party vendors for system integrations, implementations, and rollouts.  A PMP and/or other relevant Agile project management certifications will be a ‘plus’ but are not required for consideration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Project Planning

  • Create and execute project plans. Revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Facilitate definition of project scope and objectives.
  • Project Resourcing
  • Engage resources that are required to deliver project and meet schedule, cost, and risk objectives.
  • Ensure work estimates are valid, tracked, and managed.
  • Manages and prioritizes workload of self/team.

Managing Project

  • Leverage project management best practices to track progress and drive results toward overall program objectives.
  • Identify and manage project risks/issues. Recognize and determine the appropriate corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope.
  • Consistently plan and monitor time, scope, resources, and budget.
  • Provide strong project management skills for multiple medium to large projects; ensures team is aware of the plan and deliverables.
  • Builds relationships and foster collaboration to instill trust.

Project Delivery

  • Complete projects effectively and efficiently while maintaining a high level of proficiency.
  • Lead projects through full design, development, implementation, and transition to operational support within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Create and maintain project documentation.
  • Partner with IT teams, business, and third-party vendors to continually make progress on project activities.

Project Reporting

  • Identify and execute appropriate communication methods to provide project status that meets stakeholder and leadership needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • PMI certification (PMP, PMI-ACP) or other relevant Agile project management certifications (CSM, CSPO) is a 'plus'.

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Experience leading medium to large IT projects with budgets over $100,000.
  • Experience delivering IT products and services.
  • Solid understanding of IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Disciplined Agile, SAFe).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to create effective documents and review them with key project stakeholders and multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing multiple projects of moderate to high risk.
  • Experience managing projects utilizing Agile methodologies.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within multiple levels of the firm.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of personalities.

           

EXPERIENCE 

  • 5-8 years of project management experience required; experience managing technical systems implementations with focus on public accounting solutions preferred.
  • 2-3 years of Agile experience required; 5 plus years of Agile experience preferred.    
  • Microsoft Office skills (Project, SharePoint, OneNote). 
  • Program or Portfolio Management a plus
  • Managing projects with software development or integration with COTS/SAAS solutions preferred
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity to drive clarity and achieve clear outcomes
  • Experience with professional services, accounting, tax or other regulated industries a plus

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $205,200

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
